Oh, now that's really neat! I didn't see this before. Interesting that she found that saturation+value>100. Looking at my own scatterplots, it looks like there are maybe slightly fewer points in that lower triangle, but it's hard to really tell. I wonder if things have changed a little since 2013. I think I'll look at this a bit more.

Thanks! Figures 1-6 and 8-13 are probably the most relevant information and make a sort of summary on their own; Figures 1-6 show the histograms for the mares and 8-13 are the histograms for the stallions. The rest of the paper describes a simple algorithm for generating pony colors and investigates whether the various data (hue, saturation, and value for coats and manes) are independent.

I was extremely nervous about telling my family, so I was really surprised when they were perfectly OK with it and didn't make a big deal out of it. In fact, they were only concerned over the fact that I was afraid to tell them. My sister ended up getting really into the show for a while too. I guess I got pretty much the best possible response from my family.
