It's all about opinion, never said he was better than Alan B but I watch a lot if Championship and Fleck who I've seen many times is in my opinion a better player than Hourihane who has only recently been given a more defensive role at Villa and is only now beginning to be a constant in the side, I think SU are a better team than either Villa or Preston anyway which will always have a bearing on a players performance, it's about opinions.

How many Scottish players signed by managers plural like Pellegrini hes never signed any how many are in the EPL, as for Browne he would cost 5/6 million Hourihane is different and not as good as Fleck, as for scouting Irish players for the EPL that's long gone they are not good enough any more with the odd exception and they are at best medicore.

They weren't his signings were they it's the same at all clubs new managers tend to view staff differently from the previous manager, let's face it you don't like him and probly hope he fails so you can gloat and say I told you so, I just can't understand this constant berating of a guy whose just trying to do a job like the rest of us it's typical of the fickle few so called Irish fans who run with the hare and hunt with the hound. Give the man a break and go support some EPL team who spend billions buying succesd as well asthe hearts and minds of fans with players who only play until they try for the next big money move. You really don't like him and it shows, you omitted his undoubted success as a player, as a manager of Sunderland, a failure at Ipswich, its funny that nobody ever blames other ASSISTANTS either at club or country level for failures, when it's Keane it's the haters who know little about what goes on behind the scenes, most would have a problem naming assistants, when failure takes place it's the managers fault he alone is responsible for decisions, team selection and most of the tactics, coaches follow his directive, but it seems when it's RKeane assistants seem to take on a different role, Not sure the Irish assistant is a bigger job than a Championship club assistant. Have you seen his worth he's not doing it for the money is he.

If you think that you have never followed their respective careers especially Roy Keane's who proved during his playing career he never shriked responsibility and depended on nobody, love him or hate him by all means but labelling him co -dependent is like saying the moon is made of cheese.

It's refreshing to read a sensible objective comment rather than what can only be described as comments based on no more than dislike of a person's personality, the same commenters eulogise about non Irish clubs, players and managers based on what they hear and see on the TV and other media sources, both Roy and Martin have been very successful at various times in their careers with the exception of the final year of their ROI tenure, I've said many times club management is an entirely different situation, I for one hope they are successful why because I am 100 Irish and want to see a bigger Irish presence is the UK football leagues as over the years it's become less and less, personally I think Roy should have waited and gone it alone.

Jeff and Robbie are older and far more experienced for starters and have until recently Jeff has been poor, Robbie has been going through a bad patch since the injury prior to that he was inconsistent, Arter has been criticised probably more than anybody so the comparison does not stack up, ODowda is also playing for a far inferior team.

Agree it might be a bit early, there have been players as young as 17 making appearances in the past, I think Rooney was 17, Robbie K 17/18 Wolves and Coventry so maybe in the next 12months he could take the step up, it's always risky for managers to try to push younger players too quickly for fear of injuries in particular if they are not physically up to the standard needed for their own protection on field. Still an immense prospect.

He's been a lot more consistent than some of the more so called senior players, his development as you put it is primarily down to his club as over 90percent of his training and playing is at Bristol City, they obviously think he's worth a new contract, and still only 23 it's about time Jeff and Robbie etc showed a bit more consistenty.
