Movie soundtrack LPs were my way of bringing a piece of the movie home and reliving the experience between TV broadcasts in the day before home video. Some of those LPs were pretty cool too with lots of art work from the movie and extensive liner notes. Thankfully organizations like La-La Land Records and Screen Archives exist to release great soundtracks. I still collect them on CD and love listening to movie music via MP3 player or on the radio. In some cases the music is more memorable and better than the movie it is associated with... I hope the movie is everything that fans hope it will be and they enjoy it. Tintin may be widely popular throughout the world, but like soccer it will never be as popular here in America. Philip Kaufman’s 1978 version of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” is many things, but doesn’t even come close to being “a pointless exercise” and is widely regarded as a classic of the genre. It serves as both a sequel to the original classic movie as well as a remake. Try giving it another viewing...
