For my first film critic screening, I choose to wear a suit (no tie) so everyone would take me seriously. Turns out it was a good thing because I had not been cleared to get in but got in because (in part) of how I was dressed. They took my assertions more seriously. Business casual is appropriate. I saw other film critics wearing street and regular attire so there really is no dress code. At a premiere, just in case, look professional, business casual. Also know your site stats (eg monthly hits), have business cards, and if possible, an iPad so that you can show them your site within 50 seconds (this is where I write and publish. See?).

If you try for example uploading versus linking a trailer on YouTube they will serve you a copyright infringement notice." Some will serve you with a copyright infringement notice but all. "They don't want you to drive traffic from their own channel." Very true. "I would love to find out how to get upload rights on YouTube but so far have been unsuccessful. Probably because I am not big enough yet for them to grant those rights." One "big one" that I have seen get those rights is Movie Clips but their business plan took that into account before they launched, it was no afterthought. They had something to show those companies before asking for those rights.

Those bits and pieces of movie trailer are owned by the movie studio that produced them. Be thankful YouTube did not slam your account with a copyright violation. Three of those and your account will be shut down.

Your website needs 500K hits per month to apply to Rotten Tomatoes or you have to writing on a website that gets that many hits per month or more to apply as a film critic. It is not easy getting into Rotten Tomatoes. For IMDb, yes fans can submit their own reviews but to get an official review posted their, you have to apply and be accepted. Thanks for taking the time to read them. When you do apply: Have at least fifty-two reviews (one per week) published during the year you apply, spread out equally across all the months before you apply. Watch the present and past tense in your review. Choose one and stick to it for the entirety of your review. You will get marked down if you do not. Have you reviews spread out across multiple genres as well, not one or two. They want diverse film critics. BTW, I saw your name on IMDb. Very cool.
