That leaves us with ONE reliable central defender, Javier M.- who isn't even defender. This IS the position that is a priority- central defender/pivot. Striker? Nope. Central midfielder? Don't make me laugh. Left defender we covered with Alba. Backup for Alves- Montoya is definitely ready. This is the only "hole" that we have in the squad. If something happens to let's say both Busquets and Mascherano- we are pretty much buggered... guys like Muniesa, Bartra and/or Fontas can step up from time to time- but... can they do it in Classico? IMO not yet. One day maybe- but not yet. We are not going to have a large squad so we need a player that will play in both of those positions.
