so just stay at 5.0.1 and be happy with the current state (untethered jailbreak)_ ? The only reason I wanted to update was for airplay which, if I'm not mistaken requires 5.1.1 Correct? Thanks slav :-)

I didn't realized I swore.... lol. Sorry. I don't have the 5.01 hashes or 5.1.1 saved because I bought it used. Can they be saved? Not sure how the install of 5.01 was done since bought used. and 3rd no hashes saved.....can I save them in Tiny Umbrella or something in order to achieve an update to 5.1.1? Thanks DH!!!! Sorry for the swearing, didn't realize I even did lol.

Hey everyone I have a question regarding my iPad 2. It's currently jailbroken and running 5.0.1 it's a Wi-Fi/CDMA Verizon version and I want to update it to 5.1.1. Now I know Apple is no longer signing 5.1.1 so how can I update it from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1? I don't care if I lose the untethered jailbreak on 5.0.1 because once I'm at 5.1.1 I can simply re-jailbreak it and then I'm going to just leave it there at 5.1.1 untethered jailbroken until iOS six is jailbroken untethered for the iPad 2 if and when that happens that is of course. Can someone please tell me if this is possible it's been a while since I've jailbroken an iPad so I really do not remember and I've googled around and read several tutorials on editing the hosts file ( it was pointing to gs.apple etc etc) but i took that out. and running tiny umbrella etc. etc. but so far nothing is allowing me to upgrade it. It's certainly not a necessity to go to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1 but there are some new features and reportedly better battery life so I figured what the **** I'd give it a shot but I'll be honest I'm having a hell of a time since Apple is no longer signing 5.1.1 any help would greatly be appreciated thanks everyone.

none. Not unless the unlocks get updated but not likely. Carrier unlock or grey market best bet. Jailbreaking won't unlock or give ability to unlock for your device/situation.

So I was thinking that I could downgrade my iOS 6 iPhone 4S to 5.1.1 if I had my blobs saved which I do but it appears this is not the case. Am I correct that there's no downgrade for iOS 6 to 5.1.1 for 4S? Thanks Dev Team and helpers. Always great stuff!

Hi All!! well it's almost that time again hopefully....jailbreaking convention etc. coming !! yay! I need a bit of help please. I have already stitched my saved APtickets into my stock.ipsw for iPhone 4S and have a custom .ipsw ready to go. I'm on iOS 6 stock and don't care about baseband etc. (I'm on contract until the day I die) ;-) When I point the latest redsnow to my ipsw and go through the promots etc nothing proceeds....is this becasue I need to wait for the new release of redsnow? I think I read that here when it comes to downgrading. Not a big deal as it's a test device of sorts but I didn't want to keep trying without just asking first. Thank You all. "Fas"

.ipsw are image formats that in a sense "flash" back your device to a specifi OS....but be VERY careful, you have to use the device-specific one or you can have a ...... of a time and pull hair out etc. wondering why it's not working right, won't apply etc.

I'd suggest more research on your part so you don't apply something you can't get back from (which sounds like you may have already) jailbreaking in MOST forms allows you to get access to the ability to unlock among MANY MANY other things). iClarified.com as well as here can help tremendously but I'd recommend some tutorials at iclairified.com to get the "lingo" down so you can ask more precise questions to get some great answers form here. It's a wonderful ability {jailbreaking) but there is some learning curve and many do's and dont's as well as things that specific devices can and can't do depending on which device you are working with. iPhone 1, 2, 3g, 3Gs, 4, 4S iPad 1,2 or new iPad etc.. They have different processors/hardware and some require specific files and specific types of jailbreak and such to be able to have a smooth jailbreak. etc. Welcome and enjoy. "Fas"
