Pissed Off Pirate : Pushing the limits of respect

OMG I can't believe I even remembered my log in! It's unfortunate that these people do not see the irony in their request but honestly I would rather save a spider from death than waste my time on any member of this group.

Pissed Off Pirate : Watch that finger kid!

We found .223 and 5.56 and stocked up some. We have had pretty good luck with .22lr at bi-mart on Mondays. 9mm is still a challenge to find. Fortunately we bought in case loads earlier last year. We also re-load the .223 and our 308. However, quality primers are scarce too.

Pissed Off Pirate : Gay Marriage; States rights, federal rights, or human rights

Their as in the woman who wants the abortion. Do you see where I said it should be outlawed? I don't think so. I said I don't agree with it. If the decision is it's "their body" then "they" should be wholly responsible for it. Correct? Including what they do or don't do with their pregnancy. I guess you would call me a forced birth. Strange, my life is not misery, I do not live in poverty, I do not take government money stolen from other hard working people. Just because someone doesn't want to be a responsible adult and deal with the consequences of their actions, doesn't mean the child is worthless. Where do you get off assuming that? Your statement is sick.

Who forced them to get pregnant? And how is not making someone else pay for the abortion "forced birth?" And what long twisted road did you have to travel to get to any baby born would qualify for disability? That's a connection that can't be made. Let's try this again, personal responsibility. You have sex, you get pregnant, you either have or abort the child. You pay all costs, either way. Not mine or any other taxpayers responsibility.

Having it both ways is what got us into this mess. No you can't tell them it's wrong! Guess what, as a person, yes I can. Then at the same time, You must pay for their decisions! No, I shouldn't have to. It's called personal responsibility. More people should try it. Killing a child is NOT healthcare. Keeping the Mother and baby healthy is healthcare. If you want to kill your child, well you have to live with the choice, but don't expect me to pay for it. If it's theirs to control it's their responsibility.

Just out of curiosity, why do "WE" have to do anything? Is it your relationship? Is it mine? Why is it that any time there is a difference of opinion, "something has to be done!" And for some reason it has to be done by government. I would suggest that people quit turning to government to solve their personal problems. But that's just me... (and it doesn't get much more personal than an intimate relationship, does it?)

Pissed Off Pirate : potential new directions for the page

Very true. But I think with the availability of more of a variety of information on the interweb and the problems (that have always existed) which are "snowballing" right now, I think more people are realizing that sitting back and letting government "take it's course" is not what's good for our country. Just the changes in education from when my daughter was in school to what goes on in my granddaughters school worries me. Plus grand kids, changes in my job, parents dying... lots have gone on in the last 5 or 6 years. Personally, I rarely questioned what I saw on the news. Now I go check information. Too many times, I find that what is reported is not really the truth. I don't recall being so skeptical 10 or 15 years ago.

So if I paint my car using the same tools that I paint my house with, does my car become my house or is it actually just a car painted like a house? People throw birthday parties for their pets, it doesn't automatically make them people. Plus if you read my other comment you might see I offer other solutions. A man and a woman are equal, under the law and as viewed by the government, should we call both a man, because they are viewed equally?

Ahhh, but each state has different requirements in order to get married. In some states you can marry your cousin, others you can't. If the SCOTUS rules that marriage is not what we know it to be, this opens the door for any combination of "consenting adults" to create whatever they want and call it a marriage. A simpler solution might be to make it easier to appoint an heir, give certain rights to certain people, like when you're in the hospital. You know, unclutter the living will and health directive. Stop assuming that a "union" gives rights to someone. Sometimes, you just might not want your spouse to make certain decisions. And if the government quit punishing couples on tax returns, then the argument is moot. I would love to file single with 1 deduction and my itemized. We wouldn't pay as much in taxes that way.

No it's not the "christian definition" it is the definition. Changing what a marriage is, is like saying 1+2=3, but because of feelings now 1+1=3 and 2+2=3. I have nothing against people loving one another. But since it isn't a "marriage" by any standard, call it something else. Personally, what benefits they acquire is what concerns them most it appears. And it is and always has been a states or people right.

I miss our bantering, the back and forth, the twisted humor and outright compassion.

KCPQ-TV : City council member walks out after council refuses to ban guns from meeting

Perhaps there ought to be a written test for these elected and appointed officials. In the state of WA, no government can make any laws regarding firearms that are NOT in line with WA state firearm laws. Restricting a licensed CCP holder from carrying in public places or on public property or in public buildings, NOT restricted by the state is in violation of state law. If you have no intention of upholding the laws and the constitution do not seek public office.

Pissed Off Pirate : Federal Government Making A Huge Power Grab

But the airlines don't do it. The government does. Nor can the government force the airlines through legislation to require an illegal search prior to getting on a plane. If airlines wanted to do it themselves, that's fine. Then I would have a choice. But the airlines don't do it, they didn't want to do it. They knew it was stepping over that imaginary line of assuming everyone is guilty. But the American people just rolled over and said "Oh great government, keep us safe!" Well they don't keep us safe. Nor are they required to according to SCOTUS. It's just another little removal of our rights.

Pissed Off Pirate : Federal Government Making A Huge Power Grab

I see the argument "well the bad guys are ruining it for you". Here's where our constitution, setting up our country as a constitutional Republic comes in. Regardless of what the "bad guys" do, the government is restricted from removing the rights of law abiding citizens. It is our right to keep and bear arms, just like it's our right to free speech or to protest. However, recently citizens have willingly traded imagined safety for a loss of rights. It is illegal for our government to mandate a search to get on a plane. It is also illegal for them to restrict the rights of law abiding citizens to own firearms. However, none of our rights were designed for a "whatever feels good" society. If you want to argue that we can't have tanks, go ahead. A normal person would never even think of it as a "firearm". However, a semiautomatic rifle is not an "assault weapon" it is not a "weapon of war" or any of the other scary labels you want to assign it. If we quit using the made up words for a simple, ordinary, common firearm, the gun control side would have no argument. It would be impossible for our government to convince even the furthest left leaning person that a "common rifle" is a menace to society. But that is just what they have done by creating new scary words to describe a common firearm. One of the most common rifles in the US. Listen, you have just as much a right to not own a gun. As you always say if you don't like abortions... It is our right to own firearms, in common use in the US. An AR-15 (which stands for Armalite Rifle) is one of the most common rifles made. It is no more dangerous in a law abiding citizens hands than any other firearm.

What firearms? Ours were all lost in a horrible boating accident. But the point is, 99.9% of legal gun owners follow the law. Making us criminals with their little regulations is the only way they can get to us. WA state laws, do not allow for any interference with gun ownership, at this point.
