"David Slade said he would rather get shot rather than view Twilight" That's one rather over the line I'd say.

At least 100x better than any Sci Fi Channel original movie - in every aspect - acting, production value, cinematography, FX.

Extremely lazy writing in the end... too many unanswered questions explained away vaguely with "magic" (Starbuck, angels, "god", etc). Too many lose ends that couldn't be properly worked together. The "pay off" for the opera house was just bad. The importance of Hera makes no sense. The flashbacks were useless. The willingness of all these spacefaring people to go down and breed with cavemen and have no indoor plumbing..... about the only thing I liked was the Admiral Adama / Roslin ending. I've listened to some of the Ronald Moore podcasts, and it's obvious they've been flying by the seat of their pants the whole time. They ran out of gas and nosedived this thing IMO. Still... it doesn't ruin for me what were the really great moments of the series - most of which were totally disconnected from the mythology: the threads that involved the politics of the fleet, intrigue, betrayal etc. In the end it's about what I expected, because there was no way they were going to be able to tie it all together in 2 hours in any satisfying way - especially since they've been doing nothing but waste time since the mutiny arch.

they used to call color TV a gimmick. the key is being able to create the 3d effect without glasses - and they're already working hard on that technology.

Excuse me for expressing an opinion you don't agree with. But I won't "shut up", particularly since you told me to. Peter Jackson proved what a talented director can do to truly ADAPT a story... Kevin smith is a hack who thought the Prequels were better than LOTR, who can't seem to get over his homoerotic obsessions involving hobbits and wizards. But I can't say I'm surprised Smith is ejaculating all over Zach Snyder and Watchmen - he is working for WB now after all..... then again he's allowed to have whatever opinion he wants, as are you... but me? No I need to "shut up". If something's popular around here you apparently aren't allowed to disagree.. saw this same behavior surrounding the Dark Knight. Very cultish and creepy IMO.

Sure... but do you really want to encourage Snyder? I know Kevin Smith thinks he's Jesus, but I think he was in way over his head. I can only imagine what a more talented and genuinely "visionary" directory could have brought. Someone with more ability to work with characters and dialog. Perhaps some of this is the fault of the screen writing, but regardless - Synder strikes me as a good music video director - not a good film director.

the rest of the internet showed up. it happens on almost every online community i've ever seen. the early adopters are always positive and psyched for the most part - usually the refugees of some other online community that went bad. then you can graph the relationship between the sites age and popularity with the number of negative, angry, and destructive comments.

Personally, I think it's pretty cool. It's the sort of thing that could lead to better personal conversation between the two men in the future. Shared language and shared culture is what has created the so called "special relationship" between our two countries

/Film : Patton Oswalt Says You Should See Catwoman, Daredevil, and Ghost Rider Before Complaining About Watc

Watchmen wasn't exactly a failure pile in a sadness bowl IMO, but I'm not so sure Alan Moore was wrong when he claimed that the comic was the only medium this story could effectively exist in. I think it will end up being something of a cult classic in years to come - but that isn't exactly what WB had in mind when they invested hundreds of millions in production and marketing. Judging by the 3 people in the theatre with me when I saw this opening weekend Sunday (and their confused lackluster response), I expect this movie to ultimately bomb. And the future for R rated comic books movies? Nonexistent.

I'll probably get a BJ from Scarlett Johansson, and I'll probably rate it 5/10. That's what some random person on the internet told me... and I'm too weak minded to have an opinion of my own, so I base my opinion of experiences on what other people think before I even experience them.
