Zelda Universe : Get clean with Zelda soap!

Now I can clean my Game Boy Color in style! Just pop this soap in, put a drop of water on it, and turn on the system, and the added heat from the electrical current should provide even more support for the sterilization process. Then, press Start. And play. That's not how that works? It looks just like the game pak! How do we know it isn't one? Or that the soap doesn't have the game's motherboard hidden in the center, feeding out to the bottom? How do we know that the soap is real? Is the cake really a lie? EzloSpirit, get a life.

Zelda Universe : The case of the Zelda computer

gravyfan, where's my mystery story? I came in here expecting a story about a missing, destroyed, altered, and/or talking Zelda computer and the detective Sherlink Gnomes who solves the case in the end! ...I really shouldn't have watched 1.5 episodes of Sherlock today. Carry on!

Zelda Universe : Is Ghirahim Offensive?

Good point! I almost forgot in my effort to avoid giving away spoilers (which I probably shouldn't have been worrying about at this point) that he is actually just the spirit of a sword. So "he" is an "it!" (or a "yt" or "he-r" or any other similar nonexistent pronoun)

Zelda Universe : A Link to the Past boss battle theme orchestrated

This song is in my 40 Greatest ZREO Reorchestrations YT playlist. It took a rather boring and overly repetitive theme and made it variable, and in a beautiful way that included the energy of the original piece while adding a bit more to make one heck of a battle theme! Quite possibly the greatest ZREO arrangement of a battle theme.

Addendum: Yes, and if you haven't listened to it yet, the final preview of Twilight Symphony is available (as far as I know) no where else! I thought I'd mention it because it is the best TPS preview ever. Ah, yes, and if you're doing work or just surfing teh Interwebs, you can play the complete existing ZREO library on the official YouTube channel in the background!

Zelda Universe : Rumor: Unlikely list of Wii U eShop titles leaked

Most people posting here would probably love to see many or all of these games on the Wii U. The big deal has nothing to do with the Wii U itself or the games themselves. What people are going on about is the fact that the list is obviously fake; the list itself is the big deal.

The people of VGMC is absolutely amazing! I've loved their work since hearing "Phazon Corruption" on Harmony of a Hunter! If you like this (which is just as impressive as everything else they do), you should download their free EP, /sing, from their website! (Just Google "Video Game Music Choir." I don't remember the URL.)

I went on the 17th, the day after it opened, and let me tell you: it was magical. So many people were wearing video game-related shirts (I feel ashamed to not have any VG-related clothing in my possession), there was a "live-action video game" in the courtyard, which was brilliant, photography is permitted, and I was not the only person taking pictures with my 3DS! Being around so many gamers (including some Japanese gamers who were visiting) at once is always a magical experience, and I am so excited for Video Games Live, which I am going to for the second time this coming Wednesday! And then there's Symphony of the Goddesses, which I'll be seeing on July 25! Best year ever.

Zelda Universe : Nintendo Power awards Skyward Sword Game of the Year

Take a look at the Skyward Sword forum on ZU's forums. You'll find that SS has received a lot less hate than TP and that the "consensus" (among the negative folks) is that the game was mediocre. Just as you said. So you're not alone in your thinking! I disagree, however. SS is my first- or second-favorite Zelda game (it is tied with TP; I will decide MM's exact deserved high placement when I finish it). As the first home console Zelda to come out since I officially proclaimed myself a Zelda fan (TP, my second Zelda game, was primarily responsible for that), I was super-excited for the game's release, and I am a very optimistic person when it comes to new games in series that I hold dear, which is probably why I always sound ridiculously cheery when I discuss much-debated games like SS and Pokemon Black/White (my favorite video game of all time); I always look for what's great about major new games as I play them instead of contrasting them to the previous games, even if the previous game was my favorite video game of all time (a position held at one point or another by WW, TP, Pokemon G/S/C, and Pokemon HG/SS). So here's what I found, in brief since I'm not writing a full review here: SS's characters were deep and likable (except Fi, who, while she may not have been nearly as deep and developed and lovable as Midna, still had an interesting quirk, unlike Navi, who lacked any character whatsoever); the graphics were stunning, the new structure (sky>overworld/expansive puzzle>traditional dungeon>sky>etc.) meant that there was less free exploration, sidequesting, and just wandering around and enjoying the scenery, but it was still engaging and unique; the story was unexpected and interesting, albeit poorly executed (put off to the way-side until pretty far into the game instead of gradually and steadily progressing from the very beginning, something TP, WW, and even OoT did perfectly); the bosses were...unorthodox and absolutely huge (except for Ghirahim, who deserves a mention as my favorite villain of all time in any medium; his dialogue and tongue movements were scarring, though!), and they were really fun to fight, except perhaps The Imprisoned because I hate time limits...and its ability to send damaging shockwaves with every step made him arguably the hardest boss in the game; the music...oh, the music---I could go on and on for hours about how this had probably my favorite video game soundtrack of all time, and I am planning on doing that in a podcast segment in a couple months (though not for hours!)---let's just leave it at that. So...yeah. I love SS.

SS was the 25th anniversary game, taking elements, references, and tons of other stuff from the rest of the series. The "Demon King" and "Demon Lord" references are pretty much pointing fingers at Spirit Tracks, saying "I'ma gon' copy that idea again but make it forty-three times more awesome!". And that's pretty much the deal with all of the demon references.

Zelda Universe : Music Monday: Groose

I must say that I was not a huge fan of Bilocyte's theme. Its background part just gets old after a bit. Levias's battle theme was a lot better. I'd go so far as to say that it's beautiful. Both are good battle themes, though. I just happened to like Levias's theme a bunch more. Depends on one's tastes, I suppose.
