Please not the following aspects of recent trends in average petrol prices across the US. 1) Since 10 Nov 2008, the average price of 1 gal. of gasoline is approximately $0.70 or 25% higher. 2) Since 31 Dec 2008, the average price of 1 Gal of gasoline is approximately $1.20 or about 40% higher. Please explain to me how a large price increase in petroleum does indicate the presence of economic inflation. Have a nice day.
