Aldo - Thanks for the suggestion! We&#039;re totally going to try cutting them in half, that makes the Method Smarty Dish tablets even better, they become super affordable! Thankyou :)

Our Everyday Earth - Green Blog : Plastic Biodegradable Bags Made by the Green Genius Company

Hi Amy - I did some research and have to disagree with your comments; The ASTM D 6400 is a standard specification focused on testing and validating compostable plastics, passing this standard specification will validate that the compostable plastic will be acceptable to professional composting environments. It is not a validation that the compostable plastics will biodegrade in home composting environments. The Green Genius Biodegradable trash bags are verified to ASTM D5511 Which is the Standard Test Method for Determining Anaerobic Biodegradation of Plastic Materials Under High-Solids Anaerobic Digestion Conditions – Standard test method for anaerobic biodegradation for landfill environments. Because the Green Genius bags are certified to ASTM D5511 they are guaranteed to biodegrade in landfill environments. Thanks for your interest in our blog, we hope this information was useful?

We&#039;re sorry you had a bad experience, I have to say that we didn&#039;t have any problems with tearing or premature biodegrading and these bags are certainly better than using paper but we still appreciate your feedback. We hope you can find some other way to keep your yard work eco friendly :)

Hi Stephanie, we&#039;re glad you found our site and like this article, these plastic fabric clothes are certainly inventive ways to keep plastic bags away from the landfill. Give it a try, it&#039;s really easy! We look forward to seeing some of your own plastic fabric creations... P.S.
Hi Rachel, we&#039;re glad you found our blog, I did some research and unfortunately the EarthBath wipes are not flushable. They sacrificed flush-ability for strength, which we love. We just put ours in some biodegradable doggy poop bags and throw them out... They may even be compostable, I might give that a try... We still thoroughly recommend the EarthBath grooming wipes because they really are natural and they really do work, we couldn&#039;t survive the rainy cold days without them :)

Hi Annie, Mod Podge is definitely Non-Toxic and I would say that if you re-used discarded paper etc then you have an eco friendly project. We would recommend using &quot;Outdoor Mod Podge&quot; for a bicycle. Also, check out our friends site for lots of Mod Podge info; <a href="http://modpodgerocks.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><a href="http://modpodgerocks.blogspot.com/</a>" target="_blank">http://modpodgerocks.blogspot.com/</a></a>

Hi Jodee, Thanks for reading, you are totally right, I should be walking or bicycling if the journey is short enough however I usually pick up my biodegradable trash bags as part of our weekly groceries run and our family grocery shopping would be too much to carry or bicycle with, also here in Texas the summer heat (100F plus) is a little too much for our groceries. I admit there are plenty of trips where I should be bicycling more and I will certainly be trying to achieve that in 2010. :)

The illustration was part of the instructional material that came packaged with our MayTag HE washer and dryer and I think it was part of the Tide HE detergent promotion material. I couldn&#039;t find the illustration online anywhere, just on the printed info that came with our purchase. Hope this helps? Martin

Hi Randy, I believe they used an epoxy resin to glue the bamboo strips together in a hydraulic press. I am not sure exactly what type of epoxy resin they used but there are biocide free non toxic epoxy resins available.

Hi Jose, Thanks for visiting our green blog. I guess the masonry just acts like a large storage heater! We used to have a storage heater which heated a concrete block during the day which then released its heat to warm the house at night. Do the masonry homes need lots of heating and cooling to keep at a stable temperature?
