I know of a similar dwindling pile of snow down the street from my house. Day after day I saw and wondered same. But not so much this week. I'm going to make a point of looking today.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Boeing, trade in spotlight as Obama arrives in Wash. | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Spo

Obama just finished his Everett speech then the KOMO TV reporter said, as he stepped off the podium to "Hail to the Chief",...they're playing "Pomp and Circumstances". Now he's off to Medina to schmooze with his super fat cat wealthy contributors. His care and concern for the middle class is so empty!

All it takes is a moment and children get into trouble. You will discover this shocking reality when you have children! Don't answer the phone or door, don't divert your attention even for a second.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Oceanographer: Debris from Japan due in Wash. any day now | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather

It's too easy to put these tragedies behind us, even normal and healthy. I've personally done this. So I'm thankful of this little reminder. I doubt I'll personally be affected living inland but if I should find something on a trip to the coast next summer and later, I will be more mindful. Maybe it'll be something to followup on or maybe it'll be non-distinct debris, I'll make that call when I see it. No I'm not going to send back a tire, but a family photo is another matter...I'll decide then. To those who feel the need to interject levity, do remember it's going to happen off the WA coast one day then it won't seem as funny. Thankyou Mr. Ebbesmeyer for reminding us to take a higher road.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Fiance of drowning victim vows to push for life vest law | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking N

So she died entangled under a logjam? A life vest couldn't have prevented that and might cause many more drowning deaths. I think we need a law to make gov't accountable to remove logjams instead of always caring first and foremost about natural salmon habitat.

I have a question if anyone can answer, but it's also my comment. So what good is this verification if I find out my vote wasn't counted? I doubt they'll offer me a 2nd chance. I love the other comments on the stupidity of returning to manual counting, here we are in 21st century with computers that can perform very accurate calculations yet neanderthals want to turn the clock back 70 years because they don't trust :"Diebold". They want to return to the days of highly inefficient and fault prone tabulation. How incredibly stupid.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : 777 order hangs in balance as FedEx plays hardball | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

Say what...business has too much power? Sounds to me like government wants to wield too much power. FedEx shouldn't be forced to unionize nor should it's employees. If any of the employees don't like the FedEx policy there is no law forcing them to stay in that job. FedEx should go to the floor on this one and make government choose between loyalty to unions or commitment to supporting business. I'm a Boeing employee so this indirectly affects me. I want to see if government really can stomach the loss of this airplane order to Airbus.

Reread my comment -- This is a reminder to the rest of us to be prepared for that moment. It's not always about sending a message to the surviving family members. The question "do you" is directed straight at you. Only you can answer this question. It's about Eternity.

This is a reminder to all of us how fleeting life can be. In a single moment this person is doing what he's done everyday and in the next, something goes woefully wrong and the mechanism is closing in on him. He had no escape...do you? Eternity is just a moment away. Give it some thought right now!
