In regards to Game Freak being second party, from what I can tell, second party studios sometimes have some leeway in regards to working on platforms from other first party companies. Whatever contract or deal Nintendo has with Game Freak might allow Game Freak to work on games with third party developers like SEGA, and since SEGA can put their games on any platform they wish, through a loophole, it allows Game Freak to make a game that doesn't end up on a Nintendo platform.

I've heard about this sort of thing about Microsoft in regards to Rare. I've heard Rare is actually allowed to make games on handheld gaming consoles, so if Nintendo wanted Rare to work on a handheld game for them, for whatever reason, Rare would be allowed to do so. I think it's all about certain freedoms that second party companies can have.

I could be wrong about all of that, so if anyone can correct me, please do.

Well, people were going to ask why it wasn't going to a Nintendo platform since Game Freak is a second party studio for Nintendo. Not that his response a great excuse or anything.

Man, I would LOVE it to be Mario Strikers for the Wii U. Aside from Mario Golf, it's my favorite Mario sports game series. It's way more hardcore than FIFA could ever dream of being. I mean, come on, how do you top shoving opponents into electric fences? Lol

But I can totally see why people would want it to be an old IP, as well. The question is which one? Considering the history of games they've done for Nintendo, it really does feel like they handle almost any type of game. I mean, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Strikers and Punch-Out!! are pretty different from each other. So assuming this game is really happening (I'd be very surprised if it wasn't) whether they do a new Mario Strikers, which would be my personal top choice, Punch-Out!! or Luigi's Mansion, or if they work on a different IP like Metroid or F-Zero, I'm excited to see what it is.

Yeah, I do remember reading about that, I was just adding to the sense of mystery of the Nintenjas. Lol

If this is real, then people are very idiotically determined to leak everything about this game. Do we even know what happened to the guy who leaked the 3DS version footage? No, because the Nintenjas wouldn't dare say what they'd do to people who do stupid stuff like this.

The fans definitely need to speak with their wallets. Heck, even if certain people weren't particularly fans of Metroid, 3 high quality games for $9.99 is an absolutely phenomenal deal, so even if you tell these people that they should try these games, it's just $10, not much to lose even if you end up not liking them. Even at $19.99, it's still a fantastic deal. Especially since the physical Metroid Prime Trilogy is extremely expensive and rare, I think they cost $100 plus on certain online stores.

I've put with so many people whining about how Nintendo needs to bring back Metroid and Star Fox, and F-Zero, etc. and how Iwata needs to be fired for not giving them those games, and how they are much better system sellers for the Wii U than Mario, Zelda, or Pokémon despite the fact the three I just mentioned sell a lot better than the others. Nintendo is throwing them bones now in the form of Star Fox Wii U and re-releasing this trilogy, and based how loud these fans are, both of those should sell like 2-3 million copies each within a month. So this is their chance to prove themselves right and that they really do value these franchises.

While I'm not much of an RPG guy (except for Pokémon), I know pretty much everyone else on this site is so hyped for this game that I can almost feel the hype along with you guys. It's great to hear that this game's localization is underway, so it seems that this game's coming out in the West this year after all. I'm predicting that this game won't come out any later than September for the West.
