Chain mail, but make it fashion

It's probably more comfortable than whatever that jacket is made of - burlap? *shudder* Sort of like micromail except it's neither pretty nor functional.

I have to assume this whole aesthetic was designed by committee under the influence of unnamed substances, and the loudest dudes in the room didn't read the book.

Mark, my heart weeps with yours. I wish I was as eloquent as you, please know this is sincere even though we have never met in person. I belong to a few internet communities that feel like home and this is one of them.

The girls' mother lives under that system so even if she could articulate all that progressive advice, it wouldn't have the same impact coming from her. Not to mention she is automatically wrong because she is mother. Who wants to turn into their mother?

Times are changing quicker in the city than in the country. I see this more as a city vs country clash, and less as man vs ladies. YMMV
