Doesn't matter where you are, % of burglaries are up. WAY UP! 80% increase in burglaries since this January in Austin where I live: http://bit.ly/8jkAv. I've been seeing this spike happening in the news across the board while conducting research for my efforts w/ eProoft on increasing the awareness and the IMPORTANCE of home inventory, record-keeping & documenting serial numbers etc. http://bit.ly/eProoft. I'm happy Joe got his belongings back & he probably helped the Yakima POlice by being prepared, too. A crime consists of a victim, suspect, and evidence. Without the evidence (serial number), the incident will not be considered a crime. Without the serial number, there is no proof of possession and/or crime. And if you have insurance, a police report is needed in order to file an insurance claim.
