The key is getting in a long run with a race is to treat the race as part of your longer run! Just, you know, put the race on the tail end of a longer warm-up so you don’t have to wait for beer.

Well, yeah, a marathon would certainly make your legs hate you! I’m impressed you were able to drive at all!

I’m just so excited that in a city of however many millions of people I actually saw not one but TWO people I knew on my Saturday run!

The only other times I can remember it happening is close to the finish line at shorter distance races. It was such a weird feeling!

I didn’t REALLY take a full shower. Just rinsed the sweat off but no soap and no hair washing.

Interesting! I did have my a water bottle with me while I was running but I guess I wasn’t drinking enough. Something about water that is approximately the same temperature as the inside of your mouth isn’t all that appealing.
