I feel like a minority here but I'm not a fan of June. You can't break up with someone for the same behavior you exhibited. If you never invited serious conversation, you can't break up with Becky for not having serious conversations. And Becky is opening up, emotionally, trying to bear her heart and soul - and June responds with sarcasm.

Not a fan of June.

Oh my. I never thought of how difficult goimg to the movies must be for him. Whatever movie he goes to see is spoiled by anyone coming out of a previous showing and probably by the theatre staff, too.

"How'd you manage to find me in this elevator, on this floor, in this office building, Brian?"
"Well. Absolutely none of that is because I can read your mind, Sara."

We should remember this is not public high schools this is *a* public high *school*. It's not a commentary on how they all run and it is completely within the realm of possibility (and sadly within the realm of reality) for a school to be staffed with careless individuals. They stop seeing it as a building for shaping the minds and spirits of the youth and more as the place that pays them to go there for eight hours a day.
And there are adults in authority who are self-centered enough to believe that how they think people -should- act is how people NEED to act or they are somehow lesser.

For the sake of a storyline, highlighting this is far more interesting than writing about a normal, run of the mill, completely functional high school.

Just like it's more interesting to write about a girl who suffered emotional and verbal abuse at the hands of her supervisor than it is to write about a person working a normal, low-end, low-stress job to make ends meet. Sure, most of the time people don't have to worry about that from their manager-- there are people who do -- but that makes for a far more involved topic to tackle.

I've noticed that Sylvia has tried to shape this comic into one that looks at stuff like that. She's not wasting the fact her main characteris a mindreader, she's just highlighting the minds he reads that suffer from the perils of low self-esteem that come from the apathy and harassment of thoughtless people.

<3 I think it's a very noble thing, that she wants a character who helps people like that, speaking as someone who does deal with that kind of deep embedded low self esteem everyday.

I'm convinced, deep down, Jules is a smart girl who keeps it around for emergencies where she needs to escape situations she got herself into. X'D Like a date she didn't actually want to go on that ended up being with an obnoxious salesman.
