The Design O'Blog : AOL Rebrands - My Thoughts

I am gagging. A 6 yr old could design a logo that looks better than that. AOL continues to disappoint.

Jessica Knows : Microblogger Relations: The Next Pitch?

I too would be interested in opportunities like this. I'm very specific on my blog, but tend to throw in a little bit of personal interests on Twitter and Facebook, meaning my audience there is larger. I would be totally open to receiving email pitches with information to be tweeted, so long as I felt it was optional and I could opt out if I didn't feel the pitch would interest my readers, or further my brand/name. (ie. We eat healthy, so no pitches for potato chips)

Jessica Knows : Instant Gratification and the Three Day Rule

Were you inside my brain when you wrote this post? Seriously, I have this instant gratification problem! lol I love that technology enables us to instantly connect, but it also puts a lot of pressure on us to reply right away. Sometimes waiting not only cuts down on stress, it helps us think things through. Notice I didn't wait 3 days to respond...

Jessica Knows : Your Thoughts on Conferences

I think cost is a big deal (for me anyway) but just as big a deal is time/childcare. I don't know how you gals do it, especially those who go to more than one conference a year. I have a two year old and my husband works about 70-80 hours a week. There is no way he could keep our kid while I conference hop. And, unless I knew going would drastically grow my business, I couldn't sacrifice the time off to go. Time = Money. If some of these grand conferences would come to say, DALLAS, I might be able to make it! At least for a day or two. Is it too much to ask they be held in one of the biggest cities in the country? lol

GoodNCrazy, Mom Crazy, My Way : Seattle Honeymoon: Revisited

We spent ours in Chattanooga, TN, one of my family's favorite vacation spots. Hubs had never been and I knew he'd love it. My folks put us up in a very quaint little bed and breakfast downtown and we spend 5 lovely days doing whatever we pleased. I have a feeling we'll go back a lot. It's only 4 hours from my hometown in KY and it has some of the most beautiful scenery and great things to do and see! Our Lil Man would LOVE to go, especially to the aquarium. Funny how you notice all the kid friendly places once you're a parent. :-)

Jessica Knows : Why an Element of Mystery is Important When Engaging in Blogger Outreach

I'm on day 25 of 30 with CNET/Sprint/Palm. Out of the 10 of us chosen I'm the only one who's posted every day. Yes, I know, it's hard to talk about the same product for 30 days straight... I'm doing it! But, those who've signed on and posted 5 or 8 times since we started 25 days ago?? This is why companies need contracts with bloggers. (and yes, we had to sign one) I'm so disgusted with people who sign on for a promotion and then half-ass their way through it just because they're getting something cool basically free. If you want to be taken seriously, treat your "job" seriously. Sorry, had to rant. Jessica, Thanks so much for sharing your experience and views. You have been on both sides and your observations are priceless!

Jessica Knows : The Way We're Wired...

Great post! My husband functions best in a corporate setting, where he has people to report to a group of people holding each other accountable. He likes freelance work, and longs to do that exclusively, but in reality, he needs the structure. I miss work. I'm a stay at home mom, and a danged good house keeper. I even enjoy it. But, there are days when I long for adult interaction, the ability to brainstorm instead of just interpret a 2 year old's language. I wouldn't trade staying home for anything, but I need my adult time too. Working from home provides that for me, (as well as a little cash) and I work well as a freelancer! Kudos for following your dreams and taking the route that works best for your family, even tho some may find it backwards of "normal." (and really, is there such a thing?)

Jessica Knows : 5 Things I Don't Like About the Ford Flex

I saw a charcoal colored Flex today (my dream color!) and swooned all over again. I only got to drive the Flex a week, but I found a few dislikes too: The headrests seemed tilted forward a little, and I didn't feel I could relax my head at a stoplight or while waiting in the drivethru. Hubs wanted to relax on the drive and said he felt the same way. I'm with you on the fridge... it should open from the front!!! My friend, @chele noticed the vanity mirror on the visor is extremely small... I think Ford could make that a bit larger for us ladies! :-) Other than that, I'm in love. :-) And, those few things wouldn't keep me from getting a Flex!!
