I actually think I read a fanfic about Wesley (after the end of the show) going back in time and swapping places with his Buffy season 3 self. He and faith seem to hit it off much better there than before. There are AtS season 5 spoilers, and it hasn't updated in over a year now, but I think what's there is worth the read.
