That said Taiga's reason for not filling out the form was great. Ami's feeling guilty for what she "caused" Taiga is one of the turning points in the character. That moment in the street between Ryuuji and Taiga was one of the amazing scenes that happen between the two that shows they were made for each other. The use of Valentine's Day as more of a comedy episode in an episode that is so focused on the romance is an interesting choice. Taiga using Ami as a way to force sales out of the people was funny, also working for Yasu's sake was really nice of Taiga and Ryuuji. The final scene is absolutely breathtaking no matter how many times I see it from the Minori's telling Taiga the truth about who saved her all the way to the fade to the ending with Ryuuji's answer. As usual, music is fantastic during Minori's breakdown and the others standing there to make Ryuuji and Taiga finally admit their feelings. The English Cast really impressed me in this final scene. I feel Ryuuji's mom is a pretty underrated character she is easily one of the better parents in Anime. The continuation of Taiga's confession was emotional and great as well as Ryuuji trying to deal with it all and his own feelings. We got a few episodes left and they only get more intense from here. "Lost My Pieces" is a great musical piece as always used so well by the series. I remember the first time I saw this episode and the look on Ryuuji's face was amazing. The series does a real good job at building up to moments and the series is only going to get better from here. As this is my favorite episode of the series I will be pouring a bit more than most comment I have made so far. “Holy Night” was fantastic as it is each time I watch the series, though it did take me out of the episode for a second as I was was watching the dub. The montage was nice giving us a catch up on some of the characters as well as showing us the enjoyment the orphans had from Taiga’s gifts. The use of “Ame Iro Rondo” during the conversation of Ami and Ryuuji was perfection. Now for the best part of the episode, Taiga’s Apartment scene, from her meeting with Minori all the way to the teary dash through her apartment building. This episode showed how much Ryuuji and Taiga mean to each other and the sacrifices the two would go through just to see the other happy. As someone who has watched the series many times in Japanese with Rie Kugimiya playing Taiga, I wanted to give the dub a chance and the cast has impressed me far and it is easy a dub I would watch again, but what matter most is this scene right here and Cassandra Lee Morris killed it knocking the scene out of the park. “Lost My Pieces” always gets to me in this scene, and the piece is easily one of the most emotional pieces in anime. Minori seeing the breakdown of Taiga in the street always kills me as it lead to Minori to act like both Ryuuji and Taiga are thinking about others over herself, and cause a strange tension for a few episodes between the three of them. The use of “Holy Night” as a special ending was a nice topping on the episode. With the near infamous climax coming up next episode you really start to see everything fall in line for the series packed with emotional series of events from tomorrow climax to the very pivotal Christmas arc. For my first few watches of the series Minori was my favorite character and honestly she doesn't get as much credit for the complex character she is when compared to someone like Ami. I love how the series use analogies to discuss characters feelings, used near perfectly in the many times it shows up in the series. As said before the series does a fantastic job at weaving the opening parts on the ending into the final scenes of the episode and this episode did it so well with the second ending "Orange". I feel the movie rightfully deserve the praise it receives and that the main characters properly acted the way people in their positions would. Yuki and Ame transitions while somewhat predictable felt natural and Hana was a perfectly lovable main character. Watching the kids grow up was fun and enjoyable as well as the connection we saw both Ame and Yuki make with the people from the worlds they choose to live in. While I would like to see more of the character that wouldn't make sense as the movie is about them as children and their transition into adulthood, and that is realistically the only issue I had with the movie. That being said I would still rank it last in the Hosoda movies I have watched as this one seemed to borrow a little from all the other but the climaxes of the other movie were delivered a little better as the others often had much more on the line.
