<title>The Freethinker : Spiritual Care on the NHS: Chaplains or Charlatans?</title>
<link>http://freethinker.co.uk/features/spiritual-care-on-the-nhs-chaplains-or-charlatans/#IDComment29233531</link>
<description>This quote from the link to the Worcester News article says everything about the lack of perspective and total self-regarding bubble thinking of the religious... &amp;quot; The Rev Richard Deimel said he was shocked by news of the decision and accused trust bosses of using spin by saying the axing of two chaplains would save four nurses&amp;#039; jobs. &amp;quot; What about cutting two consultants earning &amp;pound;100,000 a year each? This would save all the chaplains and four nurses&amp;#039; jobs,&amp;quot; he said.&amp;quot; I appreciate many people (including me) think consultants are overpaid, but is this man for real in suggesting we should replace 2 doctors with some half baked clerics? Does he really think this would be better for patients? &amp;quot;Sorry you have to wait another 2 months for your life saving surgery. we just don&amp;#039;t have the surgeons available, but don&amp;#039;t worry, when we finally do get you in we&amp;#039;ve got a fine array of chaplains to choose from.&amp;quot; Bloody hell. </description>
