I'm incredibly sad to see this place go, but thank you SO MUCH for even having done it in the first place. This has been my favorite site pretty much since it launched and I'm so grateful for it. I've laughed, I've cried, I've hated on raccoons. Looking forward to see what wonderful things you all do next.

I'm not sure how to help re: mascara, but an eyelid primer might keep your liner in place, at least. I couldn't make liner or shadow stay put for more than an hour until I started using primer. elf makes a cheap one that you could try out--it works well, though I've found the more expensive ones do work better.

So far primer has been my only solution to that problem, alas. I have this elf liner, and it is indeed really good, but I still prime first. I've been using the Vasanti All Star 2 in 1 face and eye primer (on my eyes only) that I got in a sample size from Birchbox, and it works better than any other one I've tried.

I'm with you! They've been doing this whole fanfic week and the pieces I've read have been pretty good, but I still feel SO weird about it, in the same way I always do when fic stuff makes into the mainstream.

Oh man, I lived for all those VH1 shows. Flavor of Love! I Love New York! A Shot at Love with TIla Tequila! Real Chance at Love! ROCK OF LOVE BUS.

Those were my favorite ones too. I loved when the contestants on the bus on Next had more sexual tension with each other than they did with the person they were there to date. I feel like that happened a lot.

So sorry for your loss, Nikki.

I had some truly excellent cats growing up. One of my best stories (I don't remember this, but my mom has told me many times): as a toddler, in the spirit of scientific investigation, I once pulled out an entire handful of our cat Ivan's whiskers. Mom returned to the room to find me clutching them in my tiny fist and Ivan bleeding a bit on one side. "Mommy!" I said. "Kitties don't have lips!"

Despite that, when I was extremely ill with asthma a few years later, Ivan spent every night with me, just being a comforting presence as I coughed my little lungs out. His favorite food was Doritos, his favorite song was Away in a Manger, he survived a house fire by hiding in a piano, and he lived to a ripe old age of 19. What a champion.

Our other cat Tasha was my baby and I loved her with my whole heart, but she was definitely less of a character than Ivan. She used to sleep under the covers curled up behind my knees all night, and once, she peed in my little brother's shoes. Bless. I felt terrible for abandoning her when I left for school, and she died the year after I graduated college, but she'd had a good long life too, and she still had my dad's lap after I was gone.

Now I live in a building that doesn't allow pets, so I get my kicks petsitting for my friends. And also, I know my brother reads the Toast, so hello, brother, if you're reading this, let's pretend you haven't found out my username.

Totally agree! Certainly not a big deal in the scheme of things, but it bugs me every time.

I liked every episode that has been mentioned in this thread, and I would like to add this year's Halloween episode, called, I think, The Hauntening, which also features a return of Boys 4 Now with a great Halloween song.
