Oh and BTW, (Lol, yea I know I said I would stop arguing but w/e :P), Do you actually consider motion control as an innovation? because to me it just seems as a gimmick. I have yet to see a DEEP and/or ENGAGING wii game that uses motion control. Oh, and Assinssin's creed ain't my favorite game either, I was just trying to come up with a quick example. Are games like Mass Efect 2,l Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, LBP better for ya ;) ?

I did play NSMBW but I was just talking about the games of witch I owned. Ugh, to be honest I'm sick of arguing :P. Maybe One day you'll switch consoles and maybe just maybe understand the feeling of release.

When I had my wii I played quite a few games, namely: De Blob, Mario Galaxy, The Conduit, Cod5, Boomblox (Bash party), Tiger woods'10, wii sports, wii sports resort, wii fit, House of the Dead Overkill, Zack and Wiki and probably more :P

I don't think you fully understand the problem here. YES like many consoles the wii can push out good games but why ONLY first party ones, and even then there first party games are sorely lacking the "next-gen" feel. When I say this I don't mean graphics, but gameplay innovations. Ex: Assassin's creed is wonderful game with a huge world for you to explore in detail and and civilians that react realistically to what you do. THIS was just an example. There are many more. The last time the wii truly innovated was when Wii Sports came out. After that it's been nothing but REHASHING of franchises (NSMBW) and releasing horrible peripherals. The Wii is DUMB just like Nintendo. Sure you can find a few great games on it. But there's no way in hell that any of the better games can't be played on another console for an overall better experience. Nintendo is a shameful company! Tell me they start getting off their ass and putting effort into a smart piece of hardware or software....I'll be waiting for a long time

I'm just doing a direct comparison to other consoles. Some of us don't have enough money for all three consoles. In that time, one must choose their horse. I honestly and whole-heartedly think that picking the wii as only console is a dumb decision when so much MORE can be offered on the next-gen consoles. I'm sorry but from now on their no arguing this fact...

Ian, Don't be so naive. Nintendo is asking to have people develop crap games on their console. The wii has bad specs and most developers don't like DOWNGRADING their games for the wii. But the ones that do end up being downgraded are completely different and not as good as the original (Dead Space Extraction). Third- parties are just trying to their best to work with the technology that the wii offers, but most of the time it just isn't enough. Nintendo is completely to blame. It's their fault, that this generation has been a crappy one for hardcore Nintendo fans.

Haha, It happens to the best of us :P. I only wish Nintendo would start understanding that people buying lazy games on impulse buy is a short term plan. In the long run, even the most casual will start demanding for a polished product (let alone a polished console). That said, I'm glad that there is a correlation between our opinions :). And am happy that I'm not the only one that doesn't want to keep giving to a company that is now corrupt by money. Hope to see more of you in the comment section of this and many other sites :P

I completely agree. Nintendo is one of the best software companies around. I feel kinda bad saying this but, I think Miyamoto and Iwata are what are keeping the company from reaching their fullest potential. With recent quotes about being too lazy to animate a princess peach in NSMBW and the announcement of *shudder* the vitality sensor I've lost my faith in them. Something that only a tuly EPIC new Zelda game can remedy. Lately it almost seems as though Nintendo are taking themselves to be a hardware company more than a software company. Putting their concentration in useless peripherals. motion plus = interesting - Wii fit= borderline dumb - Wii Speak= Dumb vitality sensor = Worst Idea since the power glove Also, this is just my opinion. Don't take it too seriously. Keep the great work on the podcast and maybe wiire can be a multiplaform site one day?

Yes, I understand the whole, "I bought a wii because I like the games for it", but still I find it very hard to accept Nintendo just sitting on their ass like this. Wii owners deserve finished products not half- asses ones *cough* New super Mario Bros wii *cough*. And yes btw, the two games I mentioned are sequels, but extremely successful sequels, both critically and sales wise. They are also sequels that built on what was great in the first game and vastly improved it while pushing the boundaries of what the console could do. I've seen this done once on the wii (Super Mario Galaxy) and even that game had limited camera control. And about the milking franchises. Yes it's done very often on the other consoles (Call Of Duty) but seriously turning a handheld game into a retail game! Come on! If you prefer Mario over Nathan Drake, Commander Sheperd...etc, I'm fine with that. You're saying this now but just because it's Mario doesn't mean you should buy it. It's rewarding Nintendo for their laziness. It delivers the message to them that wii owners will buy anything they shove on the store shelves polished or not. Earlier this year I sold my wii and my 28 games for 700$ and bought a ps3 with LittleBigPlanet, Infamous, Fallout 3 and Uncharted and a headset. 4 games that in my opinion, are better than the entire wii library all together.

This is a great site. Seriously. A great host, great members and a great community. Hell even the podcast is amazing and always succeeds at making me laugh There is however one thing about this site that bothers me...It's all wii related news. Yes I know many of you will say "GTFO nintendos da best". But that simply is not true. I was once a wii owner, like most of you it was my console of choice. But a year in, I quickly found out that many of the games I enjoyed on the wii were sequels using past gen technology (Metroid Prime corruption, Zelda twilight princess, wario ware smooth moves, smash bros brawl, mario galaxy, New super mario brow Wii). Now don't get me wrong, most of these games are great but give me a single reason why they cannot be played on another console. If your reaction to this is " Hey, thats not true, what about some great new ip's like No more heroes , HOTD OK, and insert game title here: _________", thats where I'm getting at. There are 2 problems about these new ip games: 1. Most of the time they are subpar and/or experiences that could be much better on another console because they don't focus on the "strengths" of the wii. 2.No one gives a **** about them Seriously did you see the sales figures? They made me think that there are 3 kinds of wii owners: 1. The " I got the wii thinking it was cool and now Im stuck with it and cant buy another console" hardcore gamer, 2. The "I own all three consoles" hardcore gamer" and finally the "soccer moms, Ooh wow a shiny new toy I WANT IT, and the yay its a family console" casual gamers. The majority of people who bought the game are most likely in the first category because the people from the second category would most of the time just like to buy their games on the other consoles. But the most frustrating thing about the wii is this: WAITING. I remember when I had my wii and probably spent more time reading reviews and commenting on this site then actually playing. The reasoning for this is simple. Nintendo is (excuse me for the fowl language but I think it necessary) ****ING lazy. Nintendo likes to make us wait, Nintendo likes to build our anticipation and Nintendo loves to let us down. Think of NSMBW, I'll bet y'all were excited, with quotes from Iwata being "the game is taxing the wiis processor". Maybe you were expecting an online mode, a level editor or just anything reminding you that this is a current gen console. You were dissapointed. This was The First In-house Nintendo game (No I do not count Wii sports resort, don't even get me started on the BS developpement time for "Wii" series games ) of 2009 and they missed the point. Don't pretend you aren't jealous of all the ps3 and xbox 360 games coming out such as Uncharted 2 and Mass Effect 2. Nintendo could probably develop games of a similar caliber but meh, why take the risk right? Rehashing an old franchise is what people want. Nintendo is now playing it so safe it's not even funny anymore. From they're online setup that's worth crap to they're rehashing of old franchises. They are refusing to evolve. I guess that's pretty much my point. I can probably typ another 800 words about this topic but I won't because every letter I type reminds me of how low my ex-favorite company has fallen (not in sales of course). And before typing " Oh This guy is obviously a ps3 fanboy hired by sony to make wii sales go down". think that I used to come to this site every day and defend the wii with all of my heart and soul. But you slowly learn that you will never be able to win an argument with a ps3 or xbox360 owner. Enough said

Haha lol my A$$hole of a friend probably wrote "wii sucks, buy a ps3" during our computer class while I was gone. What makes this even funnier is the whole intellectual debate it has stirred (who would have thought?). That being said, he probably wrote it because of my, back then, intention to buy a ps3. I now bought a slim along with 23 games. But I still haven't let the wii go (yet) as I'm still excited for games like Silent Hill and NSMBW. Hope the situation is all cleared up now :D Happy commenting guys

The Wiire : How Would You Change The Wii?

Better Hardware would be the most important but as for insuring better games for the console, Nintendo should really start letting third parties use their engines. No one would complain about the wii's graphics if every game looked like Mario Galaxy. Also, they should take the Microsoft route and start paying third parties for exclusive games. Their controller needs to stay the same, the wiimote+ nunchuck just feels right but an official Nintendo wireless nunchuck would be awesome. And last but definitely not least ,Nintendo NEEDS to re-purchase Rare studios from microsoft because they have made so many classic games for the N64 they could probably do the same thing on the wii plus, its not like they've been making any games worthwhile at microsoft in the last 3 years.
