As the guy who wrote the song I can confirm that it's not remotely about the CMC breaking up. Pretty much the opposite actually. They've gotten their Cutie Marks yes, but realize they'll always be Cutie Mark Crusaders. As TheSubtleBrony stated it's a reflection about their past. The conclusion is a brighter future.
