It will never happen sadly.

Sadly the Sinn Fein vote in both countries suggests otherwise.

Are you arguing that eight years as a governor qualifies him for the role or just arguing for arguments sake? I also omitted to mention he was at school for at least twelve years, supplemented no doubt by further education courtesy of HM Prison Service.

And your point is? Just because one sectarian school appoints an unrepentant murderer doesn’t qualify that individual to preside over the wider educational system. Indeed, another school in Londonderry has a terrorist in their leadership team that doesn’t make it right or morally acceptable.

Where has Henry Hill been? Since 1969 the consistent policy of all Westminster governments has been to concede to Republican violence. That the PUL community has never embraced terrorism and its cheerleaders to the extent evidenced by Sinn Fein’s Ascendency, means that in practice they are marginalised when political calculations are made. I highlight one fact which I suspect few readers including Conservative MPs are conscious off. Last week Paul Kavanagh was appointed to the Education Board in N.I. He will be paid for his role by the taxpayers if the UK. His qualifications for appointment, that he is a convicted murderer who is unrepentant about his crimes and was nominated by Sinn Fein. If the Labour Party are so proud of the BA/GFA they should publicise it’s workings such as this appointment. Let’s be honest no one cares for the people of N.I. who express their wishes purely via the ballot box.

The WA breaches the BA/GFA as it treats NI as if it wasn’t part of the UK. The US, EU, HMG and the media all ignored that reality. I supported Brexit but as an Ulsterman I am appalled at BJ cynical and dishonest posturing.

Basically your analysis is correct but the Military restriction is on goods/kit not personnel. However, HMG accepted restrictions on troop levels in the BA/GFA, the sell out has been ongoing for some time. Sadly, BJ hasn’t the guts to tear up the protocol, if he did the NIO SCS would go ballistic.

Has the moral courage to give BJ unwelcome advice and yet remain a member of a cabinet which has signally failed to protect members of the Security Forces from one sided inquiries arising from the Troubles. I am afraid Wallace comes over as that fixture in most messes, talks a good war but goes missing when integrity might impact on personal ambition.

Hold the front page, NIO civil servant poses with Biden! They were both Irish Republican cheer leaders, so what’s the point. Lord Caine amuses me, a man who haunted the corridors of the NIO for years but only realised they were neither pro UK or even neutral when he was sacked. I look forward to his reappointment by Brandon Lewis, they are intellectually made for each other.

Too right.
