/Film : The Twilight Saga: New Moon Full Trailer

Not in New Moon though... it's very specific in the book... they turn into WOLVES not werewolves... which is explained in Breaking Dawn, the 4th book. I'm guessing the people are trying to stick close to the books to keep the ravenous fans happy... They are supposed to be wolves 'as big as a horse' though... but I 'm kind of glad they didn't overdo the size. I don't think that would have looked well translated verbatim onto the screen

I agree... mostly what bugged me about the papercut part was how she THREW the package... I mean how many of us throw something when we get a papercut? Way over-done. I thought the wolf was way to cartoonish the first time I watched the trailer too... but the more I've seen it, the less I notice that. The growl is pretty intense - love that. I agree the exploding part was PERFECT. Actually much much better than I expected of this movie. Another bonus... the eyes were actually red and gold! You could SEE it this time around.

I think it will make more money...Found this article: http://www.examiner.com/x-4908-Twilight-Examiner~... New Moon trailer had over 5 MILLION views in 24 hours!! The Twilight trailer was only 3.4 million. Of course that's a lot of Twilight fans watching it repeatedly..even still, that's a LOT of views. Being a fan of the series myself, I went to see Twilight mulitple times in the theater even though I was hugely dissappointed in the movie itself. I went with different groups of friends who also loved the books and wanted to see it. Now just imagine if Twilight had actually been a WELL made movie!? I'm hopeful from this trailer that New Moon will be a lot better than Twilight was... and if so... this will make a LOT of money!!!

Comment on the trailer itself: Too much birthday scene and setting up the break-up. It felt like clips from a movie rather than a trailer... and most people who go to see NM will be fans of the series anyway. We know what happens, don't need to spell it out for us so much. Not enough Jacob in this trailer... he's the main 'guy' character of this movie and he has no lines (though he did show off his very hard earned body that won him the role in the first place... had to gain 30 pounds to keep the part of Jacob!) The exploding into the wolf was done well... When I read those scenes I was nervous about how they would do that on film and it looked great! The CGI wolf did look VERY CGI, which was kind of dissappointing, but... I'm still impressed. Compared to the FIRST movie, the special effects here seem MUCH higher quality. And the wolf isn't THAT bad... The scene where he jumps over Bella and explodes into a wolf looked incredible... not a scene in the book, makes me excited to see the movie... I wonder if that's how she finds out what Jacob is?? So... This trailer gives me hope!

I personally am excited by this trailer. I know Twilight left a lot to be desired, yet I still had to go to the theater and buy the dvd (almost a compulsionary thing once you've loved the story for so long). I have been hoping that Chris Weiz might do a much better job than Hardwick did and from what I've seen so far, I think he has. I'm really hoping THIS film will at least somewhat measure up to the book it's based off of. New Moon was my favorite book in the series... Edward is gone for most of the entire story... which I hope they stay true to in the movie and don't add him in to keep the crazy teen fans happy. Jacob is an awesome character and I'm excited for the tiny amount of him we got to see in this trailer.

oh and it's possible they've added in new conflicts/fights to keep it more interesting... the '2' thing is what I know from the books/twilight gossip sites

There are 2 real fights (one happened 'off screen' in the books but I've read they added it to the film for obvious reasons) and the whole tense ending where there is threat of execution hanging over some of the characters... I'm really excited by this trailer, actually. I think Chris Weiz is going to do a WHOLE lot better with the series than Catherine Hardwicke did

/Film : 2009 MTV Movie Award Nominations

It in no way surprises me that Twilight has so many nominations. I know it was overhyped and didn't live up to its expectations (at least the expectations of the fans, I know most here had NO expectations :-) ) However - Twilight ruled mtv.com for practically the last year. They had 'Twilight Tuesdays' where every Tuesday they had new Twilight interviews/stories/pictures/clips, etc and they got more views/comments on it than ANY other blogs they ever had. The guy who was in charge of Twilight Tuesdays was suddenly famous in the Twilight community -Larry. MTV got a lot out of Twilight... so of COURSE it's going to be nominated a gazillion times, artistically valid or no. The Twilight fans all organized too, I should say, to vote for the nominations... so that probably had an effect on the outcome too.

Really?? I'm excited to hear a new composer. I mean Burwell was okay but I had always imagined a much more emotionally connecting score with the movie...Course it didn't help that the movie ITSELF didn't live up to the emotional connection of the book... so maybe new director, new score, etc will = better movie?

/Film : David Slade in Talks To Direct Eclipse

Yeah... I guess the whole Twilight 'saga' takes place in a span of about 2 1/2 years versus the seven years in Harry Potter, and half of the characters in Twilight are never supposed to age (versus they ALL are supposed to in Harry Potter)... However I tend to agree with what others have said. They are trying to rush them out to capitalize on how popular the series is right now cause they're afraid the fans will lose interest. I am dissapointed - I've been a fan of the book series since 2005 and I haven't lost interest yet, I don't think I am about to... but from all the behind the scenes stuff I've seen of New Moon I have much higher expectations for it than I did for Twilight! Maybe they will all just get better and better (cause let's face it... Twilight wasn't done very well...)

I'm fairly certain Drew Barrymore has offically said she's not directing Eclipse. I thought that meant they had already chosen someone? Guess not... I am glad to hear they are working hard to make sure the special effects don't suck as bad as they did in the first movie...

I wondered if they would find anyone when they did their HUGE open casting call for Native Americans... and apparently one of the wolf pack is from that casting call... but I'm glad all the rest are also Native Americans! That will be good exposure for them. Also they have been filming for a little while now, it seems... it's just been all 'closed sets' but the Twilight websites have managed to get a few pictures out of them filming like the cliff diving scenes, the motorcycle scenes, etc. I saw pictures a few weeks ago with all the 'Cullen's in costume but not sure if that was just a 'dress rehearsal'' or actual filming... still they are rushing all of this

Jane is a small part... I dont' think it will be any kind of 'break out' for Dakota to get into more adult roles (unless they give her more screen time in the movie than they did in the book) We see her again in all the other books but always for one or two scenes... tense-climatic scenes, but still only one or two. But I'm excited to see what she can do with it!
