Big Government : We've Been Sacked by the Humane Society

1. Just what we need in a time of recession: make food more costly & harder to get. Save a chicken/starve a family! 2. Animal Extremists aren't new. They've been around 30+ years. Welcome to the party. 3. HSUS & others have hijacked the Animal Welfare movement and turned it into a $100+million/year INTERNATIONAL industry. It has nothing to do with saving pets, everything to do with making TAX-FREE dollars. 4. The first place Animal Rights legislation was passed into law was in the 1930's in Nazi Germany. Animals had rights, but people didn't. 5. If you think the past & present aren't related, you need to read some of Cass Sunstein's opinions. Oh, and HSUS are advisors to the Dept. of Homeland Security. 6. HSUS has a Representative in every state whose job it is to introduce and lobby for the passage of legislation at the STATE, COUNTY and LOCAL level that supports their ideology and violates your civil rights in the process. 7. The agenda of the Animal Rights movement is to provide animals with the same legal rights as humans. If you think that's a joke, consider that in Switzerland...it's already happened! 8. Their stated goals include legislating a strict vegan diet for everyone. No meat, fish, eggs, poultry, honey, milk or other dairy product could be grown, sold, produced or consumed. Nobody would be allowed to farm, fish, hunt or even own an animal (if they have the same rights, owning a dog would be the same as slavery). Don't want to give your Constitutional rights to a porcupine? Pay attention! Stop donating to HSUS, PETA and the ASPCA. They're not what you think!

Wonder why they didn't get all up in arms about this? www.petakillsanimals(DOT)com Oh, yeah...it was PETA that did it! They used a bunch of their donation money to get their killers, er, employees, off the hook with the law. Psychos Exterminating Tame Animals = PETA

Animal Rights or Human Responsibility (AR-HR) : Unconstitutional in Louisville, Kentucky and Everywhere Else

Curious with all the positive spin by Metro why they are now considering an appeal? Is it because they don't think the citizens of Jefferson County are entitled to their Constitutional Rights, or does it have to do with heavy pressure from a certain A/R group that's sweating bullets over this decision??

Re: Judge Simpson's decision only being valid in Western District. While that is technically true, the situations wherein due process is being denied are so egregious, you will see this decision widely used. Not even a nod to due process in the Indiana tax case or the Houston SPCA ordeal. First use will likely be in N. KY on a federal cased filed in Feb. where cruelty was alleged, a Beagle pack seized & all euthanized when $11,000+ bond not met, then cruelty charges immediately dropped.

Animal Rights or Human Responsibility (AR-HR) : "What happened to Due Process?" asks Indiana AG Tax Raid Judge

Hmmm....how can they pay their tax bill when their assets (the dogs) were seized? Sounds like the Houston playbook to me: first, we take your animals, then we take your property. Welcome to Amerika, comrade!

Also, under 1983, you get to sue not only the governing body (city/county/state), but also AS INDIVIDUALS anyone who participated in the seizure: the ACOs who took your pets, their supervisor. For good measure you can throw in any GROUP that participated in any way and--indivdually--any of their members who did. Maybe when things get really expensive & embarassing, people will come to their senses.

Couple other things to note: 1. The decision included two injunctions (no inspections of enclosures and no seizure bonds. Even if the decision is appealed, those injunctions still stand. 2. There is no statute of limitations under Section 1983 actions.
