Does it count that Downey is a Conservative? Also had a great line in Ironman 2 about being through with the Liberal Agenda.

Ahh actually Army Special Forces has a scuba school on Key West, and there are Scuba Teams in every Special Forces company. Actually SF is the most unique of the Spec Ops units since their missions are long term. As for the SEALs getting all the press... As an SF buddy put it, "Great now all the glory hounds will go to them." SF prefers the Quiet Professionals. Okay off my SF soapbox now. I wonder which former SEAL that could have been. I would love to have seen it as there are a couple I really don't care much for.

Big Government : Newt Gingrich Is Right on Illegal Immigration

So we don't want to tear families apart. Then maybe we should look at all criminal activity in that light. Does that guy who broke into your house have a family? How about the drunk driver that just caused a major accident, should we tear him away from his wife and children? Then there are the military who are torn away from their families to go serve in some God forsaken part of the world. should we just shut it down so those families won't be torn apart? Why would deporting someone who is here illegally mean tearing the family apart, are we denying them the right to take their children with them? In other words the whole tearing the family apart is a crock. It feels good to say it and it makes people think you are compassionate but it doesn't pass the logic test.

It reminds me of the Mariners. They traded Griffey, Johnson, and A-Rod then went on to have 116 game winning season without all the big money players. This might be worth seeing.

If you are not a member of this board you might want to join. There are a number of places to get good advice along with articles by the top Indie Authors on how they did it. http://www.kindleboards.com/index.php Most of what I have published as an indie author are short stories.

Big Hollywood : Aaron Lewis: A Patriot with a Guitar and Gun

I first heard his song "Country Boy" on the Andrew Wilkow show. Not big on what they call Rock music today but this song was excellent. His voice is raw and heartfelt, it made me take a new look at the man and his music. Still not a fan of the band Stained but as an individual singer with an acoustic guitar he is great.

Well Texas did join the Confederacy what else can I say, they are Texas after all. As for cowboying in eastern WA I understand that perfectly. I now live north of Spokane when not on the road. Ohh and forgot to mention the almost tree landing because of the T-10. Was chewing on the skirt of the canopy and that tree monster was still trying to get me.

Ahh the "you don't understand our culture" argument. What was there to understand? I didn't say that there was no progress away from racism, and prejudice, I said that it still existed even into the mid 70's. Like most of my friends from the South you go into this long explanation trying to deny that it was there. Did it define your culture in the 70's? To a certain extent yes it did, not as much as it had but it was still there. Does it still exist in the South? Yes but it still exists everywhere else too. That is not a judgment against the South anymore than anywhere else, it just is. It is like the alcoholic who changes from hard liquor to beer, still taking in the alcohol just in a different form. As for my visiting the south?? Two years in Alabama, one in Kentucky, and being married to a Texan, was a little more than just visiting. To be honest I really don't care about the north and south thing, the only prejudice that I have is from which side of the river (that would be the Mississippi in case you are wondering) are you from. Racism exists in every city I have ever lived in, it was just more open in South Alabama when I was there. It was better than it had been, but it was still there. I could tell that your time with the Deuce in the 80's gives you no right to tell me what it was like in the Army during the 70's. Hell I doubt you ever jumped a T-10.

This was in southern Alabama and you may call it prejudice but that is just a way of softening the word racism. I grew up in Colorado and had never really seen racism till I was stationed in the deep south. There were changes happening but in 1975 a lot of outright racism existed. The young soldier from Long Island was threatened because he went to a popular BBQ restaurant with a mixed group of friends and there were some white women with them. He wasn't dating any of them but things were said anyway. The refusal to admit that it exists makes it impossible to put an end to it. I am far from being a liberal, but that doesn't mean I am blind to problems that are actually there. I judge all people by their actions not their skin color, religion, or any other criteria.

I was stationed in the deep South during the mid 70's and was amazed at the racism that I saw. It was just below the surface but still very much alive. Being white people spoke more freely around me. One of the young soldiers who worked for me was from Long Island and told me a lot about his own experiences. It was a shame to witness this.

"The Immortals" looks like they took another Greek myth and threw it out the window. The hero is supposed to be Theseus yet there is very little about the Minotaur that I could see from the trailer.

Sorry but he is correct. He didn't say anything about all comic books, he DID say it about the obscure ones like "Watchmen" and "Kick Ass." There are a number of movies being based on comics that most people have never heard of. I read Super Hero Hype every day to see what is coming up and have no clue about some of the comics they are talking about.
