If the government increases taxes it hurts the economy. Taking money out of the pockets of the private sector slows the economy. There is no way around it. We may decide that we want certain services in exchange for a more robust economy (say an army, navy, police and fire), but it is a choice and I choose not to fund the DoEd, DoAG, DoEng, etc. I choose not to fund the Congressional frills and OILbama's golf.

There is a considerable falsehood repeated by the leftist. The fact is after the "Bush" tax cuts the amount of money coming into the Treasury went up. Raising tax rates does no increase the tax receipts in all cases. The problem is spending. Too many people including businesses living on government largess. I would do a 10% across the board cut for EVERYONE getting a government (state, local, federal) check.

You should learn some economics or at least look look up how taxes on products work. The investors in the company also pay the cost of raising taxes. So do the employees and all the other stake holders.
