Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : CU men\'s basketball: Miller gives Buffs power in the paint - Buffzone

It is so amazing that even five years ago we would never be having a discussion about CU men's basketball, coupled with yet another trip to The Dance (as if its a given, rather than an illusory goal) and a possible top 2 finish in the PAC 12, much less any other conference. Man, have they come a long way in a short amount of time. Go Buffs!!!!! Here's to the football team turning the tide.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Colorado men\'s basketball: Dinwiddie pleased to see Buffs in tourney - Buffzone

To second Buffbobby's point, there is a lot of upside for Spencer coming back for another year. Granted there is a chance of getting injured but that's like in life in general. If he goes in the 2nd round, who knows if he even gets anything other than a minimal contract with hardly any guaranteed money. It would almost be no different if he came back and got reinjured. Unfortunately, for Spencer, this year's draft class is expected to be stacked high to low. Coming off an ACL its hard to imagine him staying in the first round of an already deep class, and likely getting deeper as the year goes on and players making a name for themselves. Next year, however, the class is not expected to be so talented making it more likely that he gets into the Top 15. In the end, an injury can happen anywhere/anytime. If he can get guaranteed money as a 1st round pick it makes sense but otherwise he might as well come back to school, take a slight risk of injury and likely improve his draft status to a lottery pick. Just my $.02.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Colorado football: Mike MacIntyre turns to Sefo Liufau - Buffzone

Vk - what's up with your dorman infatuation? I think your bromance is a bit misplaced. The fact that he hasn't gotten any snaps with either Embree or Mac should say something about his ability. On top of the fact that he hasn't transferred anywhere. Look at the facts. My two cents, I think it's a great idea to bring in sefo. Buffs are rebuilding so there is no reason to keep him out. see what he does, especially next week against charleston southern. Go buffs.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : CU Buffs forward Andre Roberson decides to turn pro - Buffzone

Agree with Saheeb, what a poor, poor decision. I still say kinda of like Burks who could have used another year to polish up his game. Granted Alec was a lottery pick but he is still toiling on the Utah bench and not getting much PT putting his future, post rookie contract, in jeopardy. I hope Andrew i ready to spend quite a bit of time in the D-League, if not overseas. Sad to say but I think he will come to regret this decision. Go Buffs. Still Top 25 next year.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : RINGO: NFL team crosses line in interview with former CU Buff Nick Kasa - Buffzone

IMO that line of questioning is completely unconscionable. It's like if we were in the 1940s and someone asked a player whether he was a Jew or whether a dark-skinned player was perhaps part black, as opposed to native american. It is unacceptable, abhorant and even to an exent bigoted. I'm glad it came out and I hope the league investigates. I also hope it doesn't hurt Kasa's draft status, since he definitely doesn't deserve to internalize someone else's small-mindedness and sexism.

It's one thing to make an error during a live game, its another thing to make a mistake while taking ten minutes to review video evidence without the distraction of the players, speed and coaches. No excuses. I just can not understand how they could have botched the call unless they never saw the side angle that clearly showed .1 of a second left, unless something more nefarious occurred like doctoring of the video.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Men\'s basketball: CU Buffs\' Andre Roberson says NBA decision will wait - Buffzone

Like I said, i don't fault him for coming out. I probably would have done the same thing. But like you agree, another year at CU would have elevated his game. Of course there is always the risk of injury which certainly added to his decision to leave school. And that risk has to be weighed against going to a job ill-prepared, which I believe his stats highlight. But I do not believe that another team will give him a shot at a roster spot after his contract is over. I don't think he has come close to proving himself in the NBA. A stint in Europe would do wonders for his game.

I'm not saying that he should go to Europe right at this moment, but if he wants to resurrect his career, once his three year contract is up, he should go play in Europe and come back. Quite frankly, I'm not sure he will have many more options. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the D-League soon. Like you said, he can't shoot and I would assume that Utah is close to being okay with eating his salary and getting someone else in that spot. I really liked the kid but I think he killed his career and potential by coming out too early.

One has to look no further than Burks to know that Roberson should come back. I loved Burks in college but knew that he should have stayed in school to refine his game. Of course money spoke loudly (and who can blame him). But riding the bench in Utah must not be what he had hoped or expected. He just wasn't ready and anyone watching him, as compared to the other lottery picks should have realized as such. I dread the same result for Andre. IMO - Burks should go the way of Copeland. Go to Europe, make some money and refine his game and come back.

How can we apply the bandage without understand the complexities of the wound? I don't particularly enjoy my alma mater being dragged through the mud with insinuations of overt or covert racism, accusations made by none other than Embree. While I think it's always good to move forward, I disagree that we should just ignore or remove ourselves from the past. And we are not talking about Barnett history, but rather something that happened less than 3 weeks ago.

Stuart has a great article on cuatthegame.com discussing internal emails leading up to Embree's dismissal. Irrespective of the admin's intent to fire embree prior to the Utah game, or at least implications thereof, the more interesting part to me related to discussions/decisions that Embree apparently made regarding the likely dismissal of Cabral and Brown. The reason I bring this up, and certainly not looking to rehash old issues, but this stinks to me of reverse discrimination. The team as a whole was awful statistically speaking and yet the only two members of the coaching staff that Embree wanted to let go were Brown, a caucasian, and Cabral, a Hawaiian (who is obviously not black). But meanwhile EB gets a free pass. Am I the only one seeing this hypocrisy?

Just to throw something out there about hypocrisy from the media. While some (if not many) in the media will argue that CU was unfair to Embree to fire him after 2 season, notwithstanding the state of the program, it seems perfectly okay to them for HCs to bolt for greener pastures after 3 years, see Davis, Tuberville, etc. Why is it unfair to fire someone who is underachieving but its quite okay for coaches to find better opportunities when they arise?

Article shows a lot about Butch who comes off as having such amazing integrity, a la Tressel. There is no doubt that he was having back door discussion with Tennessee before he made the decision to reject Colorado's offer. It's just too much of a coincidence that as soon as he rejects CU's offer that TN shows up. Doesn't pass the smell test.
Looking at his career trajectory and record, it certainly looks like MacIntyre could be the right name. The concern was that his entire coaching career (aside from HC at SJS) has been on the defensive side of the ball. But it certainly seems that the Spartans have no problems putting points on the board. Anyone check out the stats for the SJS QB this year: Fales 3798 yards, 31 TDs, only 9 picks. Along with a strong running game. Impressive.
