Peter, you should turn your 43kix link in the story into your entry link! (that will give you a SH!T TON of entry's into the contest! In addition, I love that there's finally something like this with Cleveland on the list. Cleveland really isn't that bad of a city...

I saw the original years ago, and, for an early to mid 70's flick, it wasn't too bad. It had its flaws, but was a great premise. I will see this one for sure.

I thought it was a rather intelligent commercial. It made its point in very non-dull 60 seconds. (Plus Walter "Bruce" Willis is just fucking awesome!)

/Film : Reader Forum: Is Will Smith's Seven Pounds the Worst/Weirdest Movie of 2008?

I remember doing similar to the same thing after "The Matrix Revolutions". When I saw credits, I stated aloud "What the fuck was that?!". I received plenty of agreeable nods from folks that seemed to agree. I have yet to see "Seven Pounds", and really didn't have plans to. (can this really be any worse than "88 Minutes"?)

/Film : Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett in TR2N

I'm right there with you, Vincent. House is my favorite show in television. The Season 4 instant cast change was balsy, and was well pulled off. (hell, even Kal Penn is fantastic in the cast) Anyways, Wilde has proven herself to have talent through House, and believe her to be a good choice. Again, I'm right there with Vincent in not being familiar with Beau Garrett's work. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Although, the first thing I thought of was that she reminds me of Cindy Morgan in her outfit from the 80's. http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa166/EVGNick/... So... she just might be a good choice.
As horribly "cash-in" as it seems (and is), I completely understand this HP phenomenon. I've read the books, watched the movies, even played the video games, and it just a broad story / world. It can easily draw just about anyone into it. (young and old). All you need is an open mind and imagination. At $26 for Adults, and $19 for kids, that's really not too bad of a price ticket. (and I'm sure there are people that are going to travel rather far for this). More power to Rowling and all others that would cash-in on this sort of thing. Who wouldn't, really? I can look at events of this sort and think "Why would they do this? What's the point?" But if I created some story of a child wizard that sold millions in book sales, movie tickets, home videos, toys, etc., you bet your ass I'd reap as much of the benefits as I could! Take it while it's hot. In 10 years, there won't be such a demand for it.

I had an awesome night last night, and a great weekend planned out. And its all ruined. I'm going to be plagued with this news for days to come. We all knew it was coming, but there was a hope and prayer that the light would never be made green. Not that its acceptible, but, remakes of Ft13 and even Halloween we visually doable because your antagonist wore a mask... Robert Englund's looks and manurisms totally made Krueger what he was. Its one of those roles that can't be replaced. - but - There was an article on Movie-Moron.com stating the following (and makes a decent point)... "...but is he [Krueger] still scary? Not really. Create a new Freddy, with a new actor and new make up effects and hold back on the reveal, and you could have the first truly terrifying Nightmare in a long time." Only time will tell, I guess. I've been an Elm St. fan since the beginning, and will more than likely still check this out upon release. I don't think I'll lose any sleep before that, though. (yes, pun inteneded)

I would have loved to see this film made. Forrest Gump is one of my favorite flicks. I didn't grow up during any of the the big pop culture events brought up in the movie, but the sequel (the book) had plenty of moments I remember in my youth, and would have made a great experience told through the eyes of Gump.
