For me, the story is what I read comics for. I've looked at some with great art, but the story didn't hold my attention. For example, I've been following "Selkie" since pretty early on - Dave's art is a pretty basic style too ... but the story has kept me hooked for a very long time. OTOH, if you want to improve, do so. But I do like your characters; they look so ... normal I guess.
