New Bowling Balls, Bowling Bags, Bowling Shoes, and Bowling Supplies - bowlingball.com, Helping Bowl : How To Bowl Better When You Are Nervous

Hello Teri, It is great to hear that you are still crushing it at 93 years young! It can be hard to help motivate others especially if they aren't motivated to bowl their best and win. It is possible that your teammates may benefit from doing treasurer work or being on their smart phone as it helps them not over think their bowling. I imagine the #1 goal is to have fun as this is something that gets you out of the house, so I would suggest just focus on doing the best that you can and be there for your teammates when they ask for your help as you can be someone they lean on for bowling advise. Good luck and good bowling!! Sincerely, Dylan S. bowlingball.com Staff

New Bowling Balls, Bowling Bags, Bowling Shoes, and Bowling Supplies - bowlingball.com, Helping Bowl : Gripping A Fingertip Drilled Bowling Ball

Hello Lisa, Thank you for your comment! Hand position on release can change several things. If we are interpreting the hours on a clock the same then the closer you get to 9 o'clock the more side spin you will create. As you create side spin you will allow the bowling ball to skid more through the fronts and mid part of the lane allowing the bowling ball to converse some of its energy for the backend. This can be a useful tactic when the lanes start breaking down and you need the bowling ball to travel a little further down lane before it starts hooking towards the pocket. I hope this was helpful and thank you again for your comment! Good luck and good bowling! Sincerely, Dylan S. bowlingball.com Staff

New Bowling Balls, Bowling Bags, Bowling Shoes, and Bowling Supplies - bowlingball.com, Helping Bowl : How Do I Make Bowling Adjustments With My Spot And Feet?

Hello Van, This article was talking about making side to side adjustments as opposed to front and back adjustments. Moving up or back on the approach can adjust your ball speed as you could be generating more or less power at the line. It can also adjust the lay down point of the bowling ball helping it read the lane a little bit earlier or helping the ball push through the front and mid lane just a little. Thank you for you comment! Sincerely, Dylan S. bowlingball.com Staff

New Bowling Balls, Bowling Bags, Bowling Shoes, and Bowling Supplies - bowlingball.com, Helping Bowl : Tips For Senior Bowling Practice

Hello Tom, This is a great question! There are many variables that come into play as the lanes begin to transition and you inevitably have to start moving. On a typical house shot with 4-5 bowlers per team (depending on where everyone is playing) the lanes tend to start hooking more as the night goes on and the oil is being displaced. Reading the lane and your ball reaction is key at this time. The typically move is to move your feet left to get the bowling ball to travel through more oil to help the bowling ball get through the front and mid lane. However, you still need your bowling ball to have energy down lane and be able to drive through the pins or else you're gonna have trouble carrying. Bowling is like a math problem at times, there can be multiple ways to get to the same answer. That being said you are looking for the option that gives you the most room for error and what you are most comfortable doing. Personally if I can adjust my feet and eyes down lane while still throwing the ball the same way (not having to adjust speed or my release) that would be my game plan as I am not having to change many variables as opposed to having to move left and adjust my release/speed of the bowling ball. The simpler you can make it the more consistent you will be. I hope this was helpful, good luck and good bowling! Sincerely, Dylan S. bowlingball.com Staff

New Bowling Balls, Bowling Bags, Bowling Shoes, and Bowling Supplies - bowlingball.com, Helping Bowl : Understanding Side Roll

I agree! Utilizing your hand position on the bowling ball gives you an added adjustment to help the bowling ball store the energy for going through the pins. Noticing the small details such as if your bowling ball is reading the lanes early and hitting high or if your bowling ball is skidding through the break point and not making it back to the pocket will help you determine if you need more side or forward roll. You made a great point that you do not want to help the ball as you should be letting the ball do the work. Thank you for your comment and good luck and good bowling!
Hello John, I am sorry to hear about your nerve problems but glad to hear you are getting back out there and trying to adapt. My only advise is try to find what is the most comfortable approach for you that does not hurt and something you will be able to repeat consistently. Taking little steps in your return to bowling is important as you do not want to injure yourself and make the road to recovery even longer. I hope this can help you and good luck and good bowling!!
The transition from 13lbs to 14lbs seems to be the cut off for different cores for many companies. After doing some research it seems as though Pyramid Bowling and Motiv Bowling are two companies that tend to use the same core for 13lbs as they do for 14-16lbs.

New Bowling Balls, Bowling Bags, Bowling Shoes, and Bowling Supplies - bowlingball.com, Helping Bowl : How Do I Line Up Properly To Start My League?

This can be difficult to learn especially if there is a league bowling before yours. More factors come into play since you are not bowling on fresh oil. The lanes and break down of the oil will be different each week which means it becomes even more important to have a system during practice to figure out how the lanes are playing. As always you should start with your benchmark bowling ball and your standard aiming points and adjust from there. Once you are hitting the pocket consistently, then make the 2-1 adjustments with your feet and eyes. Your path to the pocket may not be the same week to week but it should be close to the same vicinity and you will still want to make the same small adjustments as the night goes on. I hope this was helpful, good luck and good bowling!

Hello Paul, Thank you for your reply. Over and under reacting can be a result from inconsistent release and not hitting your desired marks at the arrows and at your break point. Remember the less moving parts and consistency in your bowling swing the less you will have the over/under reaction of your bowling ball. I hope that this was helpful, and if you have any other questions please feel free to reply to this message. Sincerely, Dylan S. bowlingball.com Staff

Hello Pinky, Thank you for your comment. For any person with a slow ball speed you are going to want either a plastic ball, urethane ball, and/or a low end reactive resin ball. As for the weight, that is personal preference. The weight of a bowling ball is not for us to suggest. You can go to your local bowling alley and try out their house balls to get a better feel for what weight works best for you. If you have any other questions please feel free to reply to this comment! Sincerely, Dylan S. bowlingball.com Staff

Hello Pau, Thank you for your comment, we are sorry to hear that your scores are down. Is the problem with your first ball or are you seeing an increase in missed spares? The difference between your 186 average now and your old 190-200 average is only cleaning up one open frame a game. I would love some more incite into your game so we can help get that average back up to where it should be! Sincerely, Dylan S. bowlingball.com Staff
