Why didnt any of the England players perform as they did for their club this season so far during the WC? a. They are too tired after a season of PL football b. They arent motivated because of the lack of financial compensation c. They don't feel comfortable with Capello's tactical system and line-up d. Other.... I would absolutely go for answer c. Very curious to hear your opinion!

I think Capello should be hold responsible for Green's terrible mistake. By picking him only 2 hours before the game he created Green's lack of confidence. By making a choice 2 hours for the game again for today's match, he is even making it worse. Either Capello should have said he has 100% confidence in Green directly after the match against the US, or should have dropped Green and call up Jamesthe morning after the match after a personal meeting with Green. Sorry, but this really is terrible managing. I think the days of resolute and arrogant coaches (Capello, Domenech etc) is over. Time for real people managers! I wish England all the best though. Hope Capello will put Rooney at front and give Gerrard AND Lampard an offensive midfield role!

I know we are all supposed to be a bit negative about Fat Frank, but in a team with such a lack of scoring ability, he really should play. Look at his record during last season! Secondly, why is Capello not putting the best player England has (W.R.) on his favourable position? ----------------Green------------------ Johnson---Upson--Terry--A.Cole ----------Carrick-----Barry----------- ---Gerrard--Lampard-------J.Cole --------------Rooney------------------ Get rid of all the youngsters (but Johnson) and play with the experienced players! If the line-up above means you misses depth, bring on Lennon.

Andy, The strange thing is: the Dutch press is extremely happy with the bad performance of the Dutch squad against Denmark. Last EC, we started 4-1 and 3-0 against Italy and France, and after that we were knocked-out in the quarter-finals against Russia due to an awful performance. Moreover, Italy had a better EC than the Dutch (alltough they lost 3-0 against the Dutch in their first match). If you look at the previous world champions - and their road to succes - many champions start with a bad performance. Due to that performance they find their extra strenght to give what it takes to win during the knock-out phase. So don't worry, England will get through the first round and after that will be realistic enough to give all what it takes in the knock-out phase against better teams. That's a way better scenario then being all arrogant after having 9 point out of the first 3 matches. Still, for me England still 4th (after Spain, Brazil and Argentina) to win the world cup.

I was hoping for that other Lyon attacker, Mahamadou Niang. I have been begging for him coming to Upton Park ever since I saw him playing in the Europa League 4 years ago. Strong, Quick, Good Finisher, Great leader. Sign him!

West Ham Till I Die : No Sweat!

What a match. And what an important win this was. For those who didn't see it: Just watch the last 5 minutes, they will tell you the story of this match: everybody was dog-tired. We worked so hard. Especially Behrami. At one point he was the first in line to put pressure on Hart, to (only 20 seconds later) be the one to prevent a corner kick. Amazing. Even Mido looked like he just finished a marathon when he was subbed. For me last nights performance is just what West Ham is. And everybody who didn’t experience that work-rate and loyalty of the players to the club should just go and support the Gooners!

West Ham Till I Die : You Never Know What You Have Till It's Gone!

I Agree with you about the patience of the WH fans, historically we are very patient indeed. But isn't patience by definition the opposite of judging new owners within 2 weeks after their appointment? I personally am really appreciating hearing more from our board after the uncertain silence during the last half year. Whether it is good or bad, I really enjoyed the enthusiasm of Sullivan in the Hardtalk interview. The situation of West Ham is very much comparable with Feyenoord in the Netherlands. Once a fierced club winning the UEFA CUP, now in big debts and fighting to come back to the top. What we do have in common is a fighting spirit and very loyal fans. The difference is that Feyenoord decided to cut costs, even if that means that they will loose connection with the top for some long years to come. IMHO, that is the only way up. And that is something G&S are making us aware of. There is only one way of solving the problem at West Ham, and that is the long term approach.

I think it is way too early to be drawing conclusions on the strategy of S&G. I understand that everybody has prejudices about the abilities and mentality of both Sullivan and Gold, based on their work at Birmingham as well as their 'unethical' commercial background. HOLD YOUR HORSES! It is unfair to judge now, let G&S do their job, have patience. And moreover, don't mix up short term issues (getting 3 point out of next game and prevent relegation ASAP) with long term targets (stadium, debts, academy, etcetera). We should be judging these long terms plans separately from today’s concerns

West Ham Till I Die : Let's Avoid Jerking Our Knees

I posted these stats about 3 month ago and I have to admit, the win percentage is terrible. But It is all about interpreting these stats. What about the total mess Zola has to deal with. That is not taken into consideration in the stats above. I am 100% sure current performance is mostly due to the very uncertain situation of the club, not because of GZ

Thats absolutely spot on! I am very much against sacking GZ. It is just unfair to make GZ for the trouble we face as a club at the moment. Current uncertainties will only increase by replacing our manager. My biggest concern is loosing Steve Clark when sacking GZ. He is the best person for the job IMHO.

I think Zola will stick to CC as an central forward because of his ability to fence the ball. Secondly there is no balance at all in this team, way to offensive (a team needs a minimum of 6 defensively thinking players. Might be: 4-2-3-1 ---------------------------Green------------------------ Faubert------Tomkins-------Upson-------Ilunga ------------Noble---------------Parker---------------- Behrami---------McCarthy----------------Collison --------------------------Cole---------------------------- per line: subs: Spector/Da Costa subs: Kovac subs: Mido/Stanis./Diam./Hin subs: Ilan/Franco/Nouble

I agree with you on that MusicBob. Mido is a strange guy: he can be such an individualist and provoking bully. I remember him playing for Ajax (I live in Amsterdam and work about 0.5 Km from the Amsterdam ArenA). He was so unstable/inconstant during those 40 matches he played here. The crowd hated him because of his laziness and inability to perform as a team player (and above for throwing a pair of scissors at Zlatan in the dressing room once). On the other hand, as a striker to some extend you need to be an individualist. I think with the hard-work mentality of West Ham and the need to make a strong come back in the P.L., we just signed a very eager and motivated player. I can’t wait to see him making his debut at Upton Park.

I totally agree with you on Noble: He even seems to be working harder the games we miss Parker. I also think we should give Nouble some time: for me he is a great prospect. Altough it might be too much of the same, I think we would be so strong upfront with both Cole and Nouble.
