I agree Michael I would rather see it be from HTC or Motorola. Wow! Someone with a slight interest in this handset. Unsubsidized handsets are not very common in the UK due to the carriers offering free units. But yeah you made a strong point. I guess it is a great price and would probably make a decent debut Android for someone.

lol @ gammer checker (grammer) lol kris .... sometimes their quick to point out the mistakes, rather than a very reasonable thank you but i guess this is what we do this was a great read, and it sounded like it was me !! i got my hero in October and i didn't bother with root as i had a fully functional Sense UI ... without the G1 lagg haha .... i mean if i rooted, what rom would i use on the Hero lol another Hero ROM haha o chance, my G1 is getting sold very soon!! it will be sad but it's time to give it a better home.
