Fat is bad; smoking is bad; drug abuse, etc. If someone chooses one of these avenues in life, they should pay for the consequences it brings, i.e., bad health. As long as I do not have to pay for them, then that is just fine with me.

I think it was partly the fault of choosing the nom de plume for these “parties” as a “Tea Party”. This is a direct reference to the “Boston Tea Party” which was a direct result of the taxation of tea. The default position, therefore, for “outsiders” would be that we are in a revolt against taxes.
