OK - I am REALLY embarrassed! And my letter already went out. Maybe I can beg the mailman to give it back. Seems I recall a Flintstone episode where Fred had a similar dilemma.

Sorry all! Still the concept applies!

Here are CBS details...

CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS, NYSE: CBSA) is an American media conglomerate focused on broadcasting, publishing, billboards, and television production, with most of its operations in the United States.

The President and CEO of the company is Leslie Moonves. Sumner Redstone, owner of National Amusements, is CBS's majority shareholder & serves as Chairman.

The company's name came into being on December 31, 2005 and began trading on the NYSE on January 3, 2006. Until then, the corporation was known as Viacom, and is the legal successor to said company.[2] A new company, keeping the Viacom name was spun off from CBS.

CBS, not Viacom, retains control of the over-the-air broadcasting, TV production, and publishing assets formerly owned by the larger company. However, National Amusements, through Redstone, retains majority control of both firms.

I'm with those who will never buy GM, Chrysler or GE products. I add Disney (who owns ABC) to this list after Letterman's comment about Palin's daughter.

GM sales will be just fine though.

Watch, some "stimulus" legislation will slip through to replace all the government fleet vehicles with new GM vehicles. Essentially, yet another taxpayer funded bailout for a failed company.

I would add Disney who owns ABC after the Letterman comment about Palin's 14 year old daughter.

Family friendly company? Hardly.

Letterman slams Palin's 14yo daughter!

Have you heard about this?

Here is an article: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/TheNo...7822673&am...

Dave jokes: "One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

I was taught to "go to the top" in order to get something done.

So, here is the action I have taken. You are all probably aware that ABC is owned by The Walt Disney Company. I have snail mailed the following letter to the Prez of Disney - going over the heads of those at ABC.

My letter that went out today:

-----
Bob Iger
President and Chief Executive Officer
The Walt Disney Company
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521

Dear Mr. Iger,

Your Corporate Responsibility Report states that "children and families are at the heart of the Walt Disney Company." The report also says "Our support for the well-being of children and families is deeply rooted in Disney's history..."

Apparently your standards of conduct do not apply to your subsidiary business ABC as evidenced by the recent comment by David Letterman. Mr Letterman, said: "One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

Palin attended this game with her 14 year old daughter.

It appears that children and families are fair game for mean-spirited political partisanship at ABC. This reflects poorly on ABC and on The Walt Disney Company.

Our family has long been a consumer of Disney products. We have attended theme parks literally dozens of times, been on a Disney Cruise, and own nearly every movie put out on DVD.

I am sad to say that our loyalty to Disney is shaken by this event. I hope you will do something to restore our confidence that Disney is truly a family oriented company.

Sincerely,

My Name
----------
For those who would rather call, the Disney Corporate Responsibility site has a hotline (called The Guideline) at (800) 699-4870

I would like to encourage everyone to inundate Disney (not ABC) with complaints.

Perhaps this is our chance to teach them a lesson! Can you hear the rattle snake rattling?

Time to rattle! Spread the word around.

Watching the changing of the guard last summer at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is one of the most moving, humbling things I have ever experienced.

It brings to life the phrase "Always Faithful."

Notice that the "legal authority" stuff is a **quote** from DHS Assistant Sec.

You know that slow climb to the top of the roller coaster? That is what we have experienced over the last 100 years. Now we are coming over the top... the folks in the first car are staring down into the abyss. We all shall follow over the top and down.

Keep your arms and legs inside the car at all times - hang on to your hats and sunglasses.

Dallas Fed says unfunded obligations total $99 trillion. Add in national debt for a mere $110 trillion.

I'll see if I can get someone to do some research on this and publish an article.

I've read a bit about both and it is not clear how legitimate the claims are on either.

We are NOT a democracy - that is another bit of revisionist history that is false. We are a Constitutional Republic.

I don't agree that we (those who believe in natural and Constitutional rights) are a minority. We just are not as loud. We don't control the main stream media.

What do they think the end result will be? For the politicians: Power and money. For some of the average socialist-progressives? Mortgage paid, gas tank filled, health care free.

For some other every day socialist progressive? I think they have a superficial understanding of liberalism and can be enlightened about the principles of liberty.

The socialist progressives do not use logic. They use emotion.
