That free studying sounds awesome! However, I'd probably have to look into it to see if it'd really be fit for me (since, y'know, I don't know much about German schools to begin with).

As for the news thing, I understand completely. After all, you don't live here, so it makes sense to look to news sites for info. I'm sure there are some places I misunderstand completely because I don't have the benefit of living there, so I understand! :)

Well, where I am there doesn't seem to be any religious hysteria; as a result, I haven't personally met an evolution denier that I'm aware of. School shootings are also not as prevalent as one might think, but that doesn't mean I think they never happen (obviously they do).

Other than that I guess there aren't too many more differences you haven't mentioned from what I can tell.

I'd assume there's no such thing as a pep rally though (As there doesn't seem to be many reasons to hold one in that setting).

Over here in the US standardized testing got so bad one state had a whole school (probably more) walk out on the test they were taking in protest. That's right, they just up and walked out. Due to the problems the system had, it's recently been reworked, so that's good!

You didn't miss much, it was just a straight disco party for all of its three hours with a narrator randomly popping in to give story details. The most dramatic part was when Kylo Ren did The Hustle.

The phrase "worth the weight" is a play on the phrase "worth the wait" and a reference to Gabe Newell's size. It's a pretty common joke among Valve fans.
