Xabi is the brain of RM, his passing is superb, his long passes the best in the world. He can pick a pass from out of his magic deck of cards and deliver it right to their feet. Wonderful player, without a doubt one of the best midfielders in the world and possibly the best deep lying playmaker in Europe. Xabi reminds me a lot of Fernando Redondo a former Real Madrid midfielder, Redondo was so good. They've not had a player like him since he left to AC Milan. Many people say Real Madrid's downslide began when Makelele left, no way it was when Redondo left to Milan. You can also find many similarities of Pep and Xabi. Both played the same position. Now I don't know what you mean when he was sidelined in the World Cup, when he started every single game I believe. Fabregas did not outshine him, Xabi was just as important as any player in that XI. Watch out for Khedira too, he can deliver very good passes. Overall we can't allow Xabi to have time on the ball, that is the key. That's why I'm expecting Pep to put Mascherano out there to put some steel in the midfield and bully their midfielders.
