Redeye VC : Hello Philly!

Anyone who has ever driven the Schuykill Expressway knows just how serious a step this is. That thing is horrible. In all seriousness, great move. As a frequent business traveler to Philly, I'm excited by all the new opportunities there.

This is so awesome. It's great to see leaders like Mark honored. The surprise factor is icing on the cake.

Maurilio Amorim : Red Flags Your Business Relationship is in Trouble

I really liked your last point. The minute you devalue your work, it is nigh unto impossible to turn that around. We never apologize for what we charge. It's our rate. If that's a problem, we should probably part as friends. Great post.

Maurilio Amorim : The Pastor Said What? Pulpit Blunders

A pastor friend of me while stating that the church must reproduce it self: "The church needs to be a reproductive organ.". Discussing Peter's denial of Christ and our own failings: "How many of you have ever pulled a Peter". The fun never stops.

Maurilio Amorim : So You Want to Become a Consultant

I've been a consultant for several years. This is excellent (I forwarded it to my partners). I would agree also with Daniel above. Don't be afraid to be the expert. That's what you're being paid to be. Thanks for sharing.

Michael Hyatt Blog : Why Most Authors Should Not Emulate Seth Godin

I agree with your post. Seth Godin is a zebra as we say in the medical field. Not what you expect when you hear the approaching hoof beats. Because he's a unique animal, he can get away with this. You (or me or any number of people) aren't him. Traditional distribution channels still exist for a reason. Granted, there is less and less friction but most writers still need the helping hand. I'm an infrequent commenter but daily reader. Love your blog.

Feld Thoughts : The Mac Won Me Over

I made the switch about the same time you did (although I retain MS Office). My concern was also how the Mac native apps would mesh with Exchange. Clearly, I needn't have been concerned. My MacBook Pro (same model as yours) is a delight to use and has become my primary computer. I willed my Sony laptop to my wife and HP desktop to the kids. I'm a believer.

I was just thinking today on how we cheapen the grace of God by thinking He is like us- prepared to discard us after a mistake. I'm glad His thoughts are not like mine, nor are His ways. Super post and congrats on the anniversary.

TechCrunch : Facebook: Calacanis Is Lying

You are correct. I did the delete Facebook account procedure. Twice, got emails from Facebook welcoming me back even though I hadn't activated the account. Seems a third party logged in and sent my contacts an "offer" for a free iPad. I logged in, changed my password, and let it go. Facebook's contention that a third party can't log you back in after you've started the delete function is crap. I wouldn't trust this company with anything.

LeadingSmart : When Our Plans Came Crashing Down

For me, the best part of this story is where Mark weighs in on the proposed title (I have no issue with the word "sucks" FWIW). I am impressed with the response of the team to the elder in the group. So often this is missing but here, the team received Mark's concerns and worked around it in a spirit of grace and humility. Very impressive.

Feld Thoughts : When I Decided Not To Become A Doctor

There is awesomeness in the statement "you can be anything you want to be"on a couple of levels. First, it freed you from the expectation to follow in the family business. After 21 years in the health care industry, I can tell you that if you're not in love with it, it's the wrong business for you. On a second level that affirmation from parent to child is terrific. How empowering it is to have your parents' support in achieving and doing whatever you'd like and encouraging you to be a rock star at it can't be quantified. It certainly help position you for the successes you've enjoyed I'm guessing. Docs like your dad are certainly in the minority in my experience. But the ones that are like him are rare gems. Thanks for sharing this story.

the 270 :: Your Guide to Columbus and Central Ohio - Columbus and the burbs : Behind the Curtain of TEDx Columbus by Ryan Bauer

First, this is better reporting than I've seen in the Dispatch (who, for obvious reasons, has issues with the Titans). Second, this is very disconcerting given the spirit of TED. If you want to host a conference to pimp your business, have at it. But I doubt people we pay to be pitched. Please don't bastardize the TEDx brand in the process though. This kind of stuff, I fear, could make other premier events wary of Columbus which is a shame. Nice story, Ryan.

Michael Hyatt Blog : Twitter as a Leadership Tool

This is a fantastic blog post which lead to my own post (which I will not plug here). It reminds me of Maxwell's theory of "leading from the middle". Leadership is influence. Titles are about pay grade. They are not necessarily connect. If you think you're leading and no one is following you're just taking a walk.
