Is that why he's +5 on Deltapoll, +3 on Survation since he prorogued then?

30 days grace period, during which Tory rebels can be expected not to make trouble. Precious parliamentary time used up.

I think the polls tell the story. Yes he is playing a blinder. And he will have to, in order to claw back the trust lost during the Cameron/May years.

Swinson and Lucas have said they would only respect a second ref if the result was, "remain". A second ref is dead as an option.

Can be bypassed with a single line bill, stating "notwithstanding the FTPA, a general election will be called on xxxx". Just requires a simple majority.

He's almost got me too. Except my MP is Sam Gyimah, and there is no way in hell my cross is going next to his name.

Corbyn can Vonc the government. The government can lose. Two weeks pass. The government can lose again.

Then it is up to the Prime minister, according to section 2(7) of the FTPA to set the election date. There is no timetable set for this in the FTPA, so I cannot see a way that an election can be forced before the 31st October.

If I am wrong, and an election IS called before the 31st, then there better had be a pact with TBP. It would be devastating for Labour to fight on two fronts.

There is a small Boris bounce, but people are still shocked by how awful May's government was. We need to see more evidence that Boris is the real deal, before we'd consider voting Tory. Very encouraging so far though.

Personally, I also need to see the deselection of Sam Gyimah (my MP) before my vote goes Tory again.

We all watched that in my office. It made rather a good impression. I particularly enjoyed Swinson not liking what the others had received, and bottling her attack.

Looking forward to watching much more after the recess.

Hunt decided to walk away rather than accept a bad deal.
