Big Government : Fast and Furious: Another Straw-Purchaser, Another Federal Agent Dead (and Still Holder won't Comply

It's hard to say at this point if this was a DOJ-initiated straw purchase or another criminal element involved instead. We can't assume that every gun crime in or from Mexico is the result of guns that were walked by the ATF. The DOJ needs to come clean on exactly which weapons were walked and their serial numbers so it can be determined which crimes they are liable for. If they can't come up with a list, they are either in contempt or so inept at their jobs they should be fired. This is getting to the point of grand standing by Issa. Start pressing charges NOW if the DOJ refuses to cooperate. They are legally bound to comply.

It would be fairly easy to make them put their investments in a blind trust while they are in office, and possibly for a set time after they leave office. Criminally prosecute any caught gaming the system by giving out tips to family members or friends just like they would any of us.

Not according to what I have researched, as the current "safe harbor" rules would be removed under SOPA. http://articles.sfgate.com/2011-11-02/business/30...

It is not the intended purposes of the law that most would argue with, but the unintended consequences that are bound to occur. Economically, the Big Hollywood movie studios love the legislation, but the small forum operator, for instance, couldn't keep up with the expense of making sure every post or link on their site didn't violate some copyright somewhere. The onus to prove any offending links or material have been removed also does not fall to the accuser, but rather to the site operators themselves.

Big Government : The Stop Online Piracy Act Pits Hollywood Against Tech and the American People

This legislation is a real danger to free speech. Imagine how easy it would be to silence sites such as Big Government. All it would take is a post in the comment section that is deemed by a government bureaucracy (and their Hollywood cohorts) to be infringement. With the stroke of a bureaucrat's pen, the site will be legally have to be blocked by all service providers in the US.

Big Government : No Rest For Conservative America, the 'Sleeping Giant', in 2012

The RINOs in the Republican party have been working hard to convince the TEA Party freshmen that what the people really wanted was for them to work with Barry, Nancy, Harry and crew to compromise their election promises and keep the status quo. The status quo has been very good to these career politicians. The people need to keep voting the big government people out of office. It took over 100 years for the progressives to strangle the heart out of the US by trampling the Constitution. It will mean a long hard fight to get real conservatives back in office.

Big Government : Obama Nation: Tax Policy

I sat through a town hall style meeting with Schakowsky a few years back at a former employer. It was being filmed, and of course the 'questions" were provided by Schalowsky's staff in advance and given to select employees to read. My employer made it clear that no employee would put forward their own questions during the meeting under any circumstances. It was certain that she wasn't interested in what the 'peasantry' thought or cared about; she knew better and this was simply PR work.

That hits the nail on the head. To anyone that uses logic, the next presidential election should be a slam dunk for anyone who runs against Obama. In reality, it's not going to be that easy. The MSM has proven they will go to the mat for the current administration, and even though diminished by the new media, they still hold a lot of influence over the American people. The 2012 election will be a tough fight to win.

The reason given for the latest raid on Gibson is in fact a violation of Indian law, not US law or environmental standards. A new law in India forbids the export of unfinished fret boards. At Gibson, US workers are doing the jobs that the Indian government (and the US administration, apparently) believe belong to Indian workers.

"Once they snap out of it and realize the best way to run a country is to compromise then maybe we can get somewhere." Get somewhere? Where is it exactly that we are supposed to be heading? Further into debt? More destruction of the Constitution? The failure of the US into a third world country? A communist Utopia?
