West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Birmingham

DiCanio, Bilic, Sir Trevor, O'Neill....? I'd rather have Ollie Murs in charge than the dead hand of the man that couldn't give a toss. Maybe he needs another massage.

Er, yes. We all know that we are going down. With a board that have made a whole heap of wrong decisions in the past 12 months and that are only intent in taking us to an athletics track to make a few bob for themselves, what good would caring do? For anyone who thinks we will survive, think on this. Avram Gravedigger Grant has not won back to back league games since he left Chelski. That's an amazing statistic and I have no reason to think it will change in the next couple of months. The people that appointed him then tried to sack him and then backed him again are laughable. I will continue to go, but given that the players couldn't give a fig why should we? It's easier to cope expecting nothing...

Someone needs to put the various websites/fanzines/supporters' organizations together to cement one voice to be heard by the board. In particular the concerns about the OS need airing diectly with the Holy Trinity. I think we are suffering from what is called 'clicktivism' - all blogging and no action.

I have not posted on here for a long while, but have now become scared that our club is facing a perfect storm and feel the need to shout. Firstly, it comes as no surprise that the 2 porn barons are cocking things up. They arrived here seeing a cheap deal and putting all their money on a move to the Olympic Staudium. Forget the sightlines, atmosphere, tradition, UP freehold and the fans' wishes - they want to make a few quid and would burn their granny if it meant getting there. Then we have Spu*s smelling even more money. Our local rivals seem bound to get the OS nod because their sums add up, we're going to be relegated and who in their right minds would want to work with our shabby board? This means we will be squeezed and condemned to being a second tier club forever as Spu*s take over our catchment area in the future. I am really not sure what I want. Premiership status and having to watch home matches hundreds of feet away or relegation and permament inferiority?

Don't leave us Headmaster, I for one look forward to your postings. I disappeared from this site for a while after postings I made about the odious Scott Duxbury were deleted simply because I took issue with a crawling 'interview' with him. I thought he should have been brought to task about some of the most disasterous decisions made at West Ham and I think Iain then took offence at my criticisms. So, as I say, I went away but then took Celtic's advice by treating it all as a joke and have since enjoyed some banter. This site, indeed all sites dedicated to West Ham, are not about their owners but about the bloggers. Like the country we need vigorous debate without restriction but, like this dodgy 'coalition' Govt, we get restrictions and stifled debate. Don't leave us in the hands of supply teachers, educate us please Head...

They're great these modern day footballers ain't they? Instruct their expensive lawyers to threaten legal action if they don't like a story whilst at the same time getting paid for sycophantic preening articles of no consequence. Take the WAGs for example. What have Mrs Rooney, Mrs Gerrard, Mrs Terry, Mrs Beckham etc ever done for humanity? Oh I forgot, they design tasteless clothing or at least have someone else do it for them. Nevertheless, our papers are full of crap about their privilleged lives whilst some product placement or another pays for their Crystal champagne. You know the libel laws Iain - either the stories in the book are true or they reflect an honestly held opinion and in either of those scenarios you'll be fine. If the stories are untrue, then you face damages or, more significantly, costs. The law's moved in your favour somewhat after Terry's failed attempt to stop the stories about him shagging Bridge's ex. I must say I had a laugh at the name of Rooney's firm - Schillings. You should instruct Dollar and Co...

West Ham Till I Die : WHTID 2010 Blog Survey Results Part 1: You

Only 8% boo a player who isn't trying?!? Leave it out. 92% of those polled weren't anywhere near UP for the Wolves home game then. Even my very elderly and very respectful dad told me the entire upper East Side (where flat caps and a stoic outlook are prerequisites) were hammering the team when the 3rd goal went in. We have nearly all changed. In the halcyon days before Terry Brown's bond scheme, everyone was staunch. I remember us going down at Anfield one hot sticky night, but nobody blamed the team or openly caned Lyall. I look back on it as one of my favourite games with us all singing We'll Meet Again and turning up in force at Stoke for another 1st Div campaign. Then, as I say, the relationship between us as fans and them as players/owners changed. The bond scheme brought huge mistrust and there has been a disconnect ever since between the fans and players/owners as we have lurched from one inept owner to the next. They have become mercenary and we have become fickle. We and they need to go back. So, the boo figure here looks wrong to me. Either the vast majority of posters on this site are lying, suffering from wishful thinking or are atypical fans. I still love you all though...

West Ham Till I Die : Der Hammer Signs for the Hammers

Spot on Tom. I'd happily flog Cole for £!0m cash but not Nobby - if he goes it's yet another case of cashing in on the youth products and bringing in lesser quality outsiders. I for one thought he was instrumental in helping keep us up in the last half dozen games. What happened to the talk of keeping our kids? I've never expected or wanted us to go out and buy success, just wanted us to keep our own. Hopefully it's just paper talk. I am meeting a couple of Tractor Boy helicopter pilots at the Ipswich friendly after they get back from a tour of Afghanistan. I wish you and them peace.

You asked about iconic images. My favourites are the one of the crowd making their way to Wembley in '26 with the giant homemade hammers; one of a boy having climbed up the window at Wembley looking in on Moore in the bath holding the '64 cup aloft; Dicks with his collar ripped open in the rain against Sp*rs and DiCanio roaring after scoring the winner in the cup at Old Trafford. Then there's the all time best football image ever - Moore and Pele embrassing after the "70 World cup quarter final. That single image taught me more about race relations than any Government initiative ever did. You should speak to Brian Benson Iain, he's the Daddy when it comes to our history.

I like your team chrischris. Bit soft in the middle but great width missus. I too would flog Upson off and go with Tomkins or pay Gallas his mercenary wages for a season or two. I'd also think about playing Behrami at right back and buy someone like Eagles to play wide right. I am not convinced by Faubert at all. Otherwise, I like the cut of your jib!

West Ham Till I Die : Will Upson Step Up?

I am gutted for Rio. Of all the players to have left us and of the SEVEN England players in the squad to have come via our academy, he is the one I respect the most. To be honest, I will find it hard to unconditionally support the team with the likes of Terry and Lampard in it. I know this is parochial and tribal, but I can't help it. If Rio or Scott ahd been there, this would be easier but I do not feel that connection with Upson or indeed Green. When the games start I may feel different, but at the moment I would rather 3 points away at Blackpool next year to World Cup glory. Sad but true....

I like you all as well, but to give our latest owners a free pass is misplaced. Bugger transfers, my real gripe is the plan to see UP and lease an athletics stadium. That's there confessed number 1 intention within the next 3 seasons. Do you really want to swap a century of history here for a soulless business agenda and watch the game from 100m? Check out the sightlines, then 'give them a chance'. There's already talk on other sites of setting up a petition demanding that any move to the Olympic Stadium doesn't include a running track. Here, it's more like middle class coalition inaction, apart from our Celtic warrior friend. Seriously, think on. Do you want to swap the atmosphere at the Boleyn to generate Davids' pension?

More jokes from our comedic tinpot Chairman. He could give Jim Davidson a run for his money. Every time I see that Karen Brady on The Apprentice I have to either drink 6 pints or mix some diazepan with my dinner. Businesswoman of the year? Surely she's some stunt from You've Been Framed. For the sake of clarity, sweetie, football tends to be played in football stadia by geezers and not in athletics fields by celebrities. Know your market or pi$$ off wherever you came from.
