This isn't much different than blaming Bush for ISIS. Sure there are ripple effects and unplanned consequences from any action in the middle east, and Bush's botched Iraq adventure contributed mightily to Sunni resentments of a newly Shia dominated government there, arguably giving ISIS the local support it needed to cross the border, but there is something bizarrely paternalistic and condescending in an attitude that unrest and violence only happen as a result of U.S. policy in a region, as if no one, from fed up students to pathologically violent religious fanatics are capable of acting on their grievances ( real or imagined), independent of U.S. policies, and that the leadership of every country and group in the region owes it's existence, directly or indirectly, to the U.S.
I'm calling for the Defense of the Senate Act, which would allow the federal government to ignore a state's choice of senator if they are batshit crazy or a complete jerk.
