Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Football: Eric Bieniemy energizes CU Buffs\' sideline - Buffzone

Patience is the key with Embree. Keep the expectations reasonable as he learns how to direct a program. Probably at least a 3 year process. Eventually, given solid recruiting, more wins will occur.

Relax folks. Embree will get plenty of time to prove what he can do. His staff can recruit, so his results should improve. Give him a chance. He's learning how to be a head coach on the fly.

You act as though I worked for Rivals when THEY RANKED THE CLASS AND PLAYERS. A lot of fans put a ton of weight in what a kid is rated. I don't. THE POINT WAS, according to a national recruiting site, Hawkins' class was a top 20 class. That's a FACT. Thus my point about what they did is also a FACT. You don't have to like it. They said it, I didn't. Cry to Rivals. BTW, while you're at it, tell us how all the new recruits will pan out before they set foot on the football field.

According to Rivals.com, CU currently sits 11th in their 2012 PAC 12 recruiting rankings. With the coaching changes @ Arizona State, UCLA and possibly Washington State, the conference recruiting landscape could change quite a bit. Although the highly rated recruits didn't pan out for Hawkins and his staff, they did prove it's possible to land a top 20 recruiting class to CU. The recruiting suffered with the lack of wins and bowl games, along with speculation Hawkins would get fired. Would imagine the moves in Westwood and Tempe will actually improve recruiting now that speculation about firings will go away. Although, it's all about when the new guys are hired. That's an advantage for CU this cycle...

IMHO, the color of the helmets isn't the problem. Pretty sure they still beat CSU or Arizona if they wore the black helmets. I like the all black look at home. Hard to make a case that 2-8 in gold helmets is reason enough to abandon the black version. I hope it carries over to 2012.

Wondering how much "fun" the Buffs had tonight. Thought it was ridiculous for Embree to suggest his team was finally having fun. Obviously, they had fun for one week. They beat Arizona. However, SC and now UCLA banged them in a manner that doesn't lend itself to having much fun. I thought they had a legit shot to win this one. Even predicted they would. That all changed so quickly. Clearly the guarantees were meaningless. All that happens is another road loss. Disappointing night. Utah really needs a win next week. Buffs better step up,,,

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : CU Buffs taking on Jon Embree\'s attitude - Buffzone

8 days prior to the Arizona victory, USC dominated our Buffs. Which begs the question...how much fun were they having then? Seems it would be easier to suggest they're finally having fun after getting the first PAC 12 victory. Seriously doubt those sentiments would be expressed after the lopsided outcomes we've witnessed. Just sayin', winning can make things seem a lot more fun. I suggested a while back the last three games could be legit opportunities to get a win or two. Hopefully, it will be three. UCLA simply isn't that great. They could completely stink on Saturday. They've played their best ball at home, but are prone to close games. Buffs win this one...

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Jon Embree, Tyler Hansen don\'t regret guaranteeing CU\'s victory at UCLA - Buffzone

Should anybody fear UCLA these days? Hardly. If by chance these predictions don't pan out, than what? It's just another "L" in a long list of road losses. As I see it, the Bruins are the perfect subject to remedy the road losing streak. UCLA as a double-digit favorite is comical.

Nice to get that first PAC 12 win. Washington State just gave UCLA life after knocking off ASU in Pullman. Great opportunity for the Buffs to stall UCLA's trip to the PAC 12 Championship Game.

I'm glad Tyler was able to bounce back and lead the offense in his Senior season. If he'd like to spend more time with the staff, perhaps he should consider requesting a Grad Assistant position after graduating.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Downward spiral: Once a powerhouse, CU football falls to BCS basement - Buffzone

It's about realistic expectations. The last time the Buffs finished in the Top 25 was 2002 (#20 AP/#21 USA Today). The only other year since 2000 they were Top 25 was 2001 (#9 in both Polls). Sure, it would be awesome to see them ranked in the Top 25 in back-to-back years again. Go bowling every year. But is it realistic to expect them to challenge USC for a PAC 12 South title on a regular basis? I don't see it, nor expect it.Regardless, it would be a hoot if Embree and his staff can succeed in the new conference. Lest I forget, Darrell Scott simply didn't get it done. Speedy played better, or why wouldn't Hagan have used him more? Fly Smith has basically just been a KR guy at UCLA.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : CU Buffs\' 2007 O-line class didn\'t panned out as planned - Buffzone

Chris Strausser, OLine Coach in 2006. Now back @ Boise State. Jeff Grimes, OLine Coach 2007-2008. Currently @ Auburn. Denver Johnson, OLine Coach 2009-2010. Now @ Tulsa. Finally, Steve Marshall. Not a stretch to suggest having FOUR different coaches barking instructions recently may have been a factor in this group's lack of success. Throw in THREE OC's without previous experience under that title and it's a recipe for potential growing pains.

The reference about "not getting it done" was mainly pertaining to his Frosh/Soph seasons. Both of them fell into that category, thus the multiple switches at the position. Regardless, I don't think the only time Hawkins played in 2010 was after Tyler went out with the injury.
