"The only way to way to find out is persevere and stick to our position"

Ha ha, That's a big ask with Theresa May in charge. Can I have some of whatever you are on?

How many of those acres are so remote and uninhabitable practically such as live firing ranges, or so remote that no one would want to live there anyway. As with the Network rail article yesterday, a lot of this so called excess land is required for reasons that that Phibbs seemingly ignores. Before making superficial comment, go and find out exactly why these Government organisations have this land. I doubt it is just that they feel like hoarding land. Then if he does find that there is truly an excess of land ownership, where is it, what is it, and would people actually want to or need to live there.

Far better would be to highlight what land Developers are sitting on today, land banking, and force them to release that land and start building now, ie, use it, or lose the outline planning permission. That land will definately be more practical building land than an access strip alongside a railway line, or a live firing range in the Scottish Highlands

Totally agree with you. Seeing the stupidity of the Conservatives at this time, it would not surprise me in the least if it were engineered firstly that Boris was not one of the two 'finalists', but also that both would be engineered to be ardent remainers. I have the scissors ready to cut up my card

And the apologies are only unconvincing lip service. Apologise! apologise! apologise! Otherwise you will be sent to the Gulag. Just look at Graylings so called apology over rising train fares yesterday, as I said in an earlier post, what a farce. Oh sorry, I do apologise.

How utterly ridiculous. If this goes to any panel first there will be a furore about that. Then there will be a furore about who is on the panel. Then there will be a furore about the outcome as it will need to be seen that Boris is punished in some way, what for I don't know. May might then decide it's time for a leadership election if Boris cannot participate at which point there will be open warfare in the party. Good fodder for the opposition press right through to Christmas. All at a time when Jeremy Corbyn has real questions to answer, it has completely taken the heat and focus off him and put it not on Boris, but on the utter incompetence and childishness of the Conservative party at this time. Can we please get some grown ups in charge. What a farce

If the Conservative hierarchy in any way engineers it that Boris does not make the final two on the ballot card, or as a minimum at least one genuine credible Brexiteer is not one of the two, the Conservatives will be dead for a generation

Just like day after the referendum, when our world did not implode, world war has yet to break out, unemployment did not increase, GDP did not fall out of the sky. The only prediction that did come to pass was that the pound would fall. Yes it did, but most knowledgeable comment on the subject said it was overvalued anyway, and would have fallen whatever the referendum outcome. So yes, agree April 2019 will be much like any other month except we will spend the next 10 years discovering what May and Robbins actually committed us to

True, they have forgotten how to govern, make decisions and lead what's best for this country. All too easy for them to hide behind "can't do this that or the other because of EU regulations, or the ECJ rulings. " High time they earned their money
