Good suggestion. Gove is too slimy to be allowed to deal with day-to-day political decisions. I could see him making some useful progress with the constitutional revions you mention, however.

Totally agree. However, I feel you may have to wait for Nigel Farage's Reform party to be an available choice on your ballot paper before you see any sign of meaningful change, or the re-emergence of common sense in politics.

A simple solution would be to allow the Stamp Duty holiday to be extended until completion for any sale that is already agreed STC and the legalities provably underway before the 31st March.

There is plenty of precedent, such as VAT applying on the date of sale, irrespective of when the invoice is actually settled.

The quality of the normal, everyday, non-AV driving experience can be enhanced similarly by exactly the same methods. So why aren't we doing it?
