That is pretty strange why you cant donate any longer. I used to donate, but they had a test indicate hepatitis and found that it was a bad test. They retested along with me going to my doctor and I did not have hep. But the Red Cross has a policy that even a false test makes me unqualified. They said I could still get blood drawn, but they would throw it away. Go figure.

The report does quote Mike Claypool say that Mr Morgan had no ice axe or crampons, but he may have lost the axe during the slide. The first time I climbed Mt Hood (as a 14 year old), I saw some roped up climbers tumbling over each other on that steep upper face. I also saw a set of climbers roped together with nothing more than a clothes line and another guy that lost his pool que stick which went sliding down the mountain. Since Mt Hood is climbed by so many people, there is good opportunity to see a fair amount of foolish goons climbing. I'm surprised Warren Miller has not done a goof video of dumb climbers up there yet.

It appears they are slightly above and to the west of the bottom of the hogsback which means the climber most likely fell/tumbled/slid down from the Mazama Chute which is not the standard route. I've been tempted to ski down that route before, but instead I ski down the safer and less steepr east part from the top of the hogsback before the bergshrund opens up like it is now.
