I admit I read literally zero comments, so forgive any redundancy, but the 405 comes way before the 99 and also before the 5 and the 10 is totally in there also, and not just because it was the Most Important Freeway for eight years of my life back in college.
I feel like I remember that they tried to make wine out of sugarcane and it turned into vinegar and everybody was Very Disappoint. I had no idea as a kid why that was so sad but now at the ripe old age of 35 I totally get it. I didn't initially look at the author's name, just clicked on the title and started reading, but I assumed pretty quickly that it wasn't written by a woman. Also, I think that stalking one's ex and/or enabling that is pretty much the definition of creepy.
