I mean I get why Helen is upset, it is tough living up in the middle of nowhere, eleven months of snow, drinking molson, hating on America cause we stole your hockey team, and not being able to date the local moose since we killed them with our global warming. :-) If I had to live under those conditions I'd probably see socialism as a way out too. Heck with the way Obama is going that may be our only option too.

Nick, We need to take it back. Andrew was all about going were the rest of us fear to tread. We (as a movement and individuals) should get on twitter and google+ and anywhere else the libs have drawn a line in the sand, and take it back. Andrew taught me that if we can take the narrative we can show the rats, parasites, and loons that they are the minority and the odd ones, not us.

Thank you for the reply, By that logic then most of people born in the mid to late 70's and 80's would be Gen-Y, right? The thing is that Obama born in '61 has little cultural or social connections with children born in the mid to late 1970's. He would have had a far different experience (had he been raised entirely in the USA) than what are traditionally accepted Gen-Xers. I am not exactly sure Generation Dynamics has all the answers either, but I do find your posts thought provoking, even if I disagree on some of the conclusions.

I hear ya, sadly the "History" Channel is more like the Leftist-Howard-Zinn-History Channel. They spend hours on Rome, the Vikings, and WWII, why? Because if they actually covered stuff about the Italian City States, the Hansa, or Medieval Urban life they'd have to cover such topics as: Capitalism, Democracy, and the foundations of the Modern Society we live in. That would really go head to head against the Communist Manifesto view of History they push. Besides the fact that they get a great deal of History utterly wrong.

Honestly, in recent years historians have taken a more circumspect view of the Crusades, especially in the "New Medieval Studies" view of history. Previously the attitude (created by Renaissance historians, and then the Victorians) was that the middle ages were full of the unwashed masses, with knights in shining armor rescuing fair maidens from castles. Nowadays this view has dissolved, and we see that the Knight (or King) wasn't as virtuous, the peasant far cleaner, and the maiden was technically some other Lord's wife. Pirenne is an awesome read, and he, Marc Bloc and the Gies have done yeoman's work on changing attitudes about our medieval ancestors (who as it was, were more like us than we admit).

Its "Insha'allah"... Basically it means something akin to "stuff" happens in a more conventional sense. In a religious sense it means "It is God's will." It is not so much that these things go against God's will as much as God determined they should not happen (there is no concept of "free will" in Islam). So if you don't blow up the infidel, it was God's will. If you crash a plane into the WTC, again God's will. You as a person really didn't have a choice in the matter. Since you don't have a choice, if it happens, God wanted it to, if it doesn't God didn't want it to happen. It is kind of nifty since you never have to take responsibility for the result, since it was all God's decision anyway... I hope this makes more sense... The question is, which war is Cameron really talking about? The one we've won in Iraq? or the one we're still fighting in Afghanistan? or is this the war previously known as the War on Terror? I agree that Cameron is a class a *$$hat, and I did not and will not see Avaturd (I saw Dances with Wolves a long time ago), but that he spouts claptrap and lefties and fanboi's rush to defend him just makes me shake my head in disgust...
